I'd like to say we spent our time in New York sightseeing, and doing couple-y things like most people do when they go to New York. The truth is, we spent most of the week in the hotel, and I'm sure you can guess what we were doing...
To be fair, we didn't spend the whole week in bed together. We did explore the hotel. It was a really nice one, with a pool and a spa and everything. And we did, at one point, go to the Empire State Building. That's hands down something I'll never forget. We stood at the top and acted out Rose and Jack's famous scene at the beginning of Titanic, and then Ricky pretended to push me off the top and I had a heart attack. I spent the next ten minutes beating Ricky to a pulp on the way down the elevator. He made up for it, though.
We went to the central park zoo, but we were too caught up in each other to take much notice all the animals. There were a couple of really cute penguins that swam over and were bumping into the glass while we were looking inside. It was so cute!
We spent most of that day sat on a bench in central park, me on his lap. We made out for a little while, but there were kids about and we didn't want any angry parents tapping us on the shoulder, so we mostly sat and talked. An adorable old couple walked past us and they were smiling, and I distinctly heard the woman say something about 'young love'. It was a really nice day, overall.
Ricky bought me a mint chocolate chip ice cream, which was absolutely perfect. I don't know why, but the ice cream in New York is a whole lot better than the ice cream in SLC. I don't know what they do differently here, but it definitely doesn't taste the same.
When we got back to the hotel that day, Ricky told me to change into something nice and meet him in the lobby. I wore a red spaghetti strapped cocktail dress that came to mid thigh and tied in the back, paired with nude heels. It was a bit chilly out and I had forgotten my coat, so naturally I borrowed Ricky's. It was too big for me, but it was soft and warm and smelled like Ricky, and when he saw me, judging by the huge grin on his face, he didn't seem to mind.
He led me outside and flagged down a cab, which we hopped into. He rattled off an address to the driver, but I wasn't really paying attention. I was staring at a group of guys walking down the street, smiling and laughing. I think I might have been drooling a little.
"Earth to Nini? What are you staring at?" Ricky asked. I finally snapped out of my trance and looked at him excitedly.
"Ricky, look at those guys! They look like BTS!" I squealed. He rolled his eyes at my fan girl moment.
"Neens, there are four guys, and two of them are like, thirty." He pointed out. I rolled my eyes. Sure there were too many of them, and they did look a little too old, but they were pretty good-looking anyway, and from a distance they could so pass as the boy band.
"Oh shut up, Richard. Let me have my moment." I muttered, elbowing him in the stomach jokingly.
"As if I'm just going to sit here and watch my girl drool over some forty-year-old idiots." He murmured, wrapping his arm around my shoulder and pulling me closer to him. I sighed and snuggled into his side.
"They weren't forty, Ricky. And you have no way of knowing that they're idiots. For all you know they could be very sm-" he cut me off with a kiss, and it would have probably gotten heated if we hadn't been in the back of a cab.
"Will you shut up about the BTS look-alikes now?" he asked me quietly. I smiled and nodded. Then I paused, and smirked.
"I will... if you promise to take me to London one day." I said. He groaned, glaring at me. Then he smiled.
"Sure, I promise. Do you know when BTS will be there for their world tour?" he asked cheekily. I smacked his chest playfully.
"Stop being mean. One day I will meet BTS."
