Hank unlocked the door and wheeled Erin in. She already felt safer in the house she once called home.
Erin: god I missed this place
Hank walked over to the stand placing his keys on it.
Hank: yea I'm sure it brings back memories?
Erin turned her wheelchair so it was facing him. Hank hug up his jacket.
Erin: times were simpler back then
Hank: yea they most definitely were, weren't they
She nodded her head and hank moved towards her. She swallowed hard and closed her eyes remembering he wouldn't hurt her. He didn't miss her unusual behavior towards him but knew how much she must be struggling to be around any man at the moment.
Hank: how about you go shower and wash the hospital off of you
He bent down to her level and placed a solid hand on her shoulder.
Erin: the hospital part isn't what I want to wash off of me. I would kill to wash every part of Paul and his men off of me.
Hank: yea I wouldn't doubt that. Go ahead, you shower ahead of me. You want it worse than I do.
He pointed in the direction of the shower, and stood up.
Hank: you left some clothes here when you moved out. I think I can still find some that fit you. You really haven't grown much.
Erin: yea ok. Thanks hank
Hank: anything for you kiddo.
They started going in separate directions. Before he stopped and turned around.
Hank: and also, don't be afraid to call for me if you need me. I will always help you.
She nodded and continued to wheel herself into the bathroom.
She shut the door behind her and grabbed a towel from the cupboard. Everything was exactly how she had left it. She knew hank wasn't one for change but didn't think that everything would be exactly the same. She smiled a little.
Then she took off her clothes and stood up. She had a lot of pain meds in her so she could barely feel the pain in her legs and her stitches. It was still noticeable enough that she had to hold on to something and wince in pain everytime she took a step.
She looked up into the mirror for the first time. She saw all the marks on her perfectly fit body again. Then the flashbacks flooded in. She forced herself to look away.
With tears streaming down her face she turned on the water. She turned the water on to the hottest temp possible. Then she stepped in. To her it couldn't feel hot enough. But when hank walked into hand her her clothes he knew he would be taking a cold shower.
Hank: Erin I got you your clothes
Erin: ok thanks
They both tried speaking over the water. They heard each other but barely.
Hank: yea, no problem
He walked back out and shut the door behind him.
She continued in the shower. She took about five minutes to shampoo and condition her hair. Then about 20 minutes to scrub her body over and over and over again.
When she finally turned the water off it was still warm but barely. She stepped out and wrapped a towel around herself. Her skin was beat red and sore from scrubbing so much. She still somehow felt disgusting. Like she hadn't even just showered.
