Further but Deep within the death island, known as the most ferocious area not only was it filled with large and thick tress it was covered with a dense fog filled with energy from old age, old age was ones ruled by being with unimaginable power, some could bent the skies others could create life and even death, but in this age war was inevitable. Countless beings fought for control, countless fell and from their corpses created a powerful land with dense old energies that could destroy any life in seconds, but those that survived evolved into beings with power.

And at the outside, its large mountains stood and reached its peak touching the sky, and from within this mountains was filled with enormous vegetation known to have the richest soil on this land and plentiful animal and beasts roam the area marking one as their territory.

Despite its enormous land not even the most powerful empire ruled by powerful beings would dare not venture as they would have to face the beats that linger within, dragons lay hidden on the very peak where lightning strikes as some oversee as a Guardian on areas.

And it's great Sea is filled with hidden sea creatures that could destroy or swallow a ship whole, not only does one have to fear the sea but its storms that deliver tremendous damage, but by some miracle, a few have and were able to set residence to escape the ongoing war of the empires and kingdoms.

Close yet far from them was a small town inhabited by humans, the building was longhouses forming a ship-likeetline with a mixture of wood and stone some were long and triangular houses, while others had a mixture of stone-like houses which were built well. Walls were still being built but were steadily rising and the ships were neatly seated up in lines others were ships' storage to avoid the elements.

On the other side were large crops bounced with many vegetables through its left were local animals such as cows, and through the hilltop was a large structure that was larger than any other longhouses, it was sturdy and with strong wooden columns that supported the roof.

The chimneys didn't look visible but were carefully planned and designed.

Within these walls were the leader and his family, and upon closer look, all sat at a large table discussing a plan, they wore medieval-like armour as their chest underneath such armour was chainmail.

The leader was in the middle listening as each one Quarles and planned, he raised his hand to which indicated that everyone should silent and everyone did so awaiting his opinion of this matter.

" I know you all are scared against the ones who drove us from our lands but know is not the time to be so hung up in the past, it has been ten years know no empire has ever set foot in this land for they fear the beats and dragons that dwell upon this very land. "

" But Father what if the beats were to attack.

Father: " The others would've already sent the signals but that is true we should always be ready for anything, Michel my wife how goes the reports on current problems we're facing? "

Michelle " We have already countered the problems winter rations should still be enough for the whole winter, the only problems were facing is that we need to hasten the building the shelters for our farm and crops, we don't have enough space nor the time as winter is almost coming. "

He knew that the safety of the crops should be prioritized as without enough winter rations that villagers slowly succumb to starvation, and hunting in the winter is suicide as beats are more prone to be deadlier and hungrier as most other animals they hunt would have started to hibernate.

If he were to stop building and continuing the walls as planned the safety of their small town would drastically lower down, the other neighbouring alliance wouldn't help either as they wouldn't want to lower their rations, and a treaty was set where all should not meddle or interfere only when the times in great need.

The elves have already secluded themselves within this land to regain their strength after losing the war with the other world ever vast empire, the small orc tribe fleed and not to be a puppet or their war soldiers, despite others joining, fallen kingdoms fleet and banded together as one but only a few were able to escape there clutches.

As those who tried to flee were chased down by an enormous fleet that spans hundreds to even thousands.

The orc tribe which numbered around hundreds were able to escape despite losing a vast amount of their people as they couldn't handle an entire fleet or even the great storms of the dead island.

The leader knew what to do as an alternative solution he would set up patrols and build a small tower and wooden fence while prioritizing the crops and storage for winter. He signalled for the vote and most accepted such plan, he formed a group of knights that spanned around ten to guard each side of the town that were vulnerable and areas that might be a focal point for the beast to attack as these beast aren't mindless as some have intelligence.

Especially when winter is here, this beat would be at its cunning state due to it needing to satiate its hunger.

After two months had passed

In the coming days of winter, he was able to set up his plan successfully while building a few makeshift traps on the way. The fence we aren't big but it was enough to keep a child's height away and wolves.

The knights were a mix between veterans and newly established soldiers and knights, they would patrol for an hour or more while switching with another one, in case of an attack, they would signal the beacon while alerting the townspeople of an attack by pounding each of there door three times.
