"What should I wear? We've never been on a real date before you know" I said to Axel as he laid across my bed checking his phone. After Greyson, Ryder and Bryson left, Axel made me a cup of tea with a shot of fireball to calm my nerves. I tried my best to shake off the vision, at least for the males' sake."Do I get to help pick out the bra and panties?" he joked, eyes still glued to his phone.
I rolled my eyes as I pulled out some dresses from my closet.
"What is so interesting on that phone of yours?" I asked trying to hide the slight shake in my hands. In a perfect world, I'd be going on a date with my mate for the first time without the threat of the Elders looming over our heads, but that's not written in the stars for me, is it? I guess I should be used to it by now, nothing ever came easily to me, why did I expect it to now?
"Not a what, a who" he responded still not looking up from his phone. I dove onto the bed and snatched his phone as he playfully tried to wrestle it back.
"Valerie??? You are texting Valerie?" I asked surprised. An image of her head in his hands slammed over me. I jumped back off the bed handing him his phone. He looked at me confused for a moment before his eyes glazed over, as if he too remembered it.
I cleared my throat as I lifted up a black dress and held it against my body facing the full length mirror in front of me, trying my best to clear my head.
"Since when did you two start texting each other?" I asked casually. Hadn't she just snapped at me this morning over him?
"Pass" he said to the dress. "For a couple of days now, I don't know Scar. I think I really like her. She's actually cool as hell once you get past the wall she keeps up. Its just hard because every time I think we are getting close to something, she blows me off." he said, putting his phone down.
"What about this one?" I asked as I held up a navy blue dress. A couple of days? Why hasn't he told me? Maybe he wanted to but I am always so damn preoccupied with my own life to look into someone else's. I was a shit friend.
"If you were going to a church service ,then yes" he snorted.
"She is totally into you, that's for sure. She's always watching you. I think she just needs time. Greyson said she has her reasons why she's weird with males" I shrugged my shoulders.
"Green?" I asked as I held a dark green body suit against me.
"Too sexy for just dinner" he took the dress from my hand. "I can be patient. I kind of think she's worth it. I don't know, sometimes I feel a drawl I can't control to her. It's weird" he stated.
"Like a mate?" I asked suddenly very interested. Had my best friend found a mate and I was too busy to see it?
"Not anything as intense as you've got going on with Hendrix, but something stronger than like" Axel pulled another dress out of my hands and tossed it to the side.
"Which one then! You don't like any of them!" I threw my hands into the air.
"Do the nude silk bodycon dress with those black silhouettes. Your ass looks amazing in that dress" he sat up casually. I blushed at his comment as I pulled the dress out of the closet. I had actually forgotten about the dress, how the hell did he remember it?
"It kind of scares me how better you know my outfits than I do" I laughed.
"I am a man Scarlett, if your ass looks good in something, I will remember it. Trust me" he wiggled his brows at me playfully. Stars above.
"You truly are insufferable Axel" I blushed furiously as I turned away from him.
"Maybe you should just ask her out? Take her on a date?" I suggested, changing the subject back to Valerie.
