After finally putting on pants, Greyson led us to our home. Even though Lorenzo said he has come as an ally, that didn't mean we trusted his word. There was no way we were going to let him near our pack until we heard him out.

Once inside, I walked over to the table and gestured for Lorenzo to have a seat. Axel, still hadn't left my side, matching my every movement as if he were my shadow. Perhaps in some ways he was.

"Would you like something to drink?" I asked, Greyson raising an eyebrow in question.

Just because he's a stranger, doesn't mean we are barbarians Greyson I mind linked him.

You truly are the most amazing Luna, ready to serve him tea, yet I spy flames behind your back he smiled wickedly.

"If you guys are going on about sex, at least say it out loud so the rest of us can enjoy the conversation instead of just staring at each other like that!" Axel as always chimed in. I rolled my eyes at my familiar and looked back to Lorenzo waiting for his answer.

"Thank you Luna, I would enjoy a glass of water" he spoke smoothly, letting the word Luna roll off his tongue as if he heard Greyson's and I's conversation. The twinkle in his eyes told me he had. But how?

I studied the male for second, his shoulders hung at ease, his hands relaxed on the table, his legs casually crossed at the ankle. Unbothered, the male screamed unbothered,  unafraid of the people in this room. I guess he wouldn't be afraid, if he was at all half of the man Bryson swore him to be, he could wipe us all out within seconds.

I shuddered at the thought before nodding and  heading to the kitchen to retrieve the glass of water.

"So tell me Lorenzo, how did you find her?" Greyson asked Lorenzo.

I filled the glass and returned to the table handing Lorenzo the drink. Axel, watching the entire encounter, slightly on edge. I took a seat next to him placing my hand on his hand to calm his nerves. To remind him, we were fine, I was fine.

"I've always known where she was." he said casually. I tensed at the comment.

"Scarlett, I have been watching after you since your parents died." Lorenzo lifted the glass to his mouth and took a drink. I furrowed my eyebrows at what he was saying. How could he have been watching me?

"It wasn't a coincidence you were placed in the same school as  your warlock." He stated while looking over at Bryson. The words your warlock ricocheted  in my head. He wasn't my anything. Not anymore. Before I could correct him, Lorenzo continued.

"I know the foster homes were rough and sometimes more than unpleasant but they were the best way to keep you off the radar and out of the minds of the Elders." he looked at me with sad eyes. I hated the look. I didn't need his damn pity.

"Instead of following me around like a lost puppy, why the hell didn't you save my parents? You are supposed to be this almighty strong and powerful warlock, why the hell couldn't you save them? Huh?" my voice dripping with venom. I don't know why anger fueled me, but it did. I mean this man didn't do anything, it wasn't his fault they were killed protecting me, but damn, he could of stopped it. Could have prevented it all.

"There isn't a day that goes by Scarlett that your parents death doesn't haunt me. Your father, was a great fae warrior and a dear friend of mine. Your mother was a gentle kind woman, with a soul that never belonged to this realm. I wish I could have saved them, but it wasn't fate and not even I can mess with things that are meant to happen." he answered honestly, no anger in his words, just defeat. For some reason that enraged me more.
