It has always been you

Chapter 9

Camp went by much faster then anyone ever thought possible and Ali and Ashlyn managed to hide their relationship very well.

Kelley left a day early because she had a game with her club team that they desperately needed her for. Meaning, Ali had the room to herself the last night of camp. Or rather to Ashlyn and herself.

They went out to dinner with basically everyone still there as a few people had already left. They stayed at the restaurant longer then they usually did but all went to their separate rooms when they got back to the hotel. Most of them had early flights the next morning.
Ashlyn of course, knowing Kelley was gone followed Ali to her room.
"Hey, you ain't coming with me?" Megan laughed, acting disappointed. In reality she was just glad to be able to FaceTime her girlfriend one last time before being able to see her again the following morning. So naturally she didn't take notice of who Ash was even going with.
"Yeah. I don't know if I'll see you tomorrow so... If not.. have a safe flight and all" Ashlyn answered.
"You too" Megan smiled.
Nobody else seemed to notice which Ali especially was grateful for. She liked Ashlyn. A lot. But she was terrified for anyone to find out.

As they made their way to Ali's room she had the biggest grin plaster on her face. She could spend some time with Ashlyn. Just the two of them. No one giving them weird looks. No one judging.
She'd been through that enough in college. All the girls were just hookups but the reactions she got when people around her found out broke her each and every time. And they made Ali hide it deeper. Every time.

As soon as Ali pulled her girlfriend into the room and closed the door behind them though, her mood changed.
She immediately pressed Ashlyn up against the door and kissed her. Needless to say, Ash was surprised at first but kissed Ali back immediately. She liked her girlfriend's dominant side. They kissed for an eternity, getting more passionate by the second but eventually pulling away when they needed oxygen.
Ali started giggling and looked up at the slightly taller blonde who joined in on the laughter. She then pulled Ali into a hug. One that neither of them ever wanted to get out of. They felt comfortable in each other's arms and it was like the rest of their problems went away. All the stress and anxiety were gone.

They eventually made their way over to Ali's bed sitting down.
"Sooooo... What are we gonna do now?" All laughed nervously.
"I could watch a good movie? And I need cuddles" Ashlyn laughed making Ali relax. She didn't know why she was that tense but she couldn't help it.
She'd never been in a relationship that felt that serious. Mostly because all her previous ones were with men that she more or less used as an alibi.

After picking a movie to watch they made themselves comfortable on Ali's bed. Ashlyn snuggled close and Ali noticed that she looked somewhat uncomfortable.
"Babe?" She said softly, making Ashlyn look up at her.
"Are you okay? You look like you're in pain or something..." She then asked.
Ashlyn let out a quiet laugh.
"Yeah it's just... Fucking period cramps and stuff." She explained.
"Ugh that sucks. Anything I can do to make you feel better?" Ali responded.
"Nooooope. You stay right here" Ashlyn then said with the biggest smile, making Ali smile too.
"Just let me know okay?" The brunette added.
"Yeah. Thank you babe."
After a few seconds of silence Ashlyn started talking again:" just fyi, I get like really really bad symptoms sometimes so... Be prepared. I'll be annoying" which again made Ali laugh.
"I think I can handle it. And remember... We're both women. You'll have to deal with me too. Although I'm much better off than you are."
Ashlyn just hummed in response, focused on the movie.

They stayed like that for the length of 2 movies. Just cuddled up on Ali's bed. A little conversation happening every now and then but mainly just enjoying each other's company.
After those two movies Ashlyn started complaining she was hungry and Ali, of course, gave in so they decided to order food.
Which turned out to be more complicated than expected. Ashlyn wanted her "comfort food" which apparently was some pasta thing that very few restaurants had.
But 30 minutes later they finally had food on the way, Ali having just ordered pizza.

The rest of the night was spent eating and laughing at each other's dumb jokes. The couple also watched another two movies but barely paid any attention to what they were even watching.
Due to training and the exhaustion coming along with it they were fast asleep by 10pm. But it didn't take long for Ashlyn to be up again.
