Flashbacks.

Y/N's POV :

-,,Y/N, please be my girlfriend" Jake said as he handed me the flowers he had bought me. They were white roses, my favourite.

I thought I was the luckiest girl in the world. I've had a crush on Jake Parker since we were children. Now my high school years would be the best years of my life. He was asking me to be his girlfriend! And he was the most popular guy in school, besides Damian of course.

-,,Yes!" I grabbed the flowers he gave me. ,,I'll be your girlfriend" I continued. He grabbed my chin and kissed me. I was so in love with him and my dream had finally come true. I was dating him. All the girls would be so jealous of me! I was so excited for this chapter of my life.

The next day at school, I was hanging out with the popular guys at lunch (obviously since I was dating one of the kings of the school) and that bitch Emily looked at me with hate in her eyes! Seeing me with Jake made her so mad! It made be so happy. This is what she deserved for being such a bitch to me for all these years.

Everywhere we went, we held hands. High school sweethearts. We were the talk of the school and I loved the attention. I became popular. It felt so good. Everytime Jake and I walked through the halls, all eyes were on us. Everytime I saw Emily I would kiss Jake in front of her just to make her jealous.

Then one day at lunch, Jake stood on the table.

,,Hey everybody just letting ya'll know that my parents are going away this weekend and I'm throwing a huge party at my place. All of you are invited". Everyone started clapping and he bowed down. Then everyone started chanting : "King Jakey, King Jakey" and to be honest, it was a little cringe but I knew I had to support my popular boyfriend so I also chanted.

The evening of the party :

Damian and I came a lot earlier to the party than everyone else to help Jake prepare the snacks, the speakers and all that. Damian was making punch and putting all the snacks on one table while I was blowing up balloons and making sure all of the speakers were working well. Jake just sat there on the couch bored. I gushed over how hot he looked in his red vest. I was so lucky to be dating him. Then about 30 minutes before the party was gonna start, Damian and I had finished preparing the party while Jake slept on the couch. We woke him up and asked him whether he liked how we decorated the house and all he said was ,,super swag bro". Then we turned on the music and waited. Half an hour later all the people started coming. We greeted them all as they walked in. Everyone was super nice to me and I enjoyed it so much. Then after about 200 people had come everyone was partying hard. The music was blasting through the speakers, Damian and I kept on refilling the snacks and the punch while Jake danced with other girls on the dance floor.

I didn't really care about it because I knew he loved me. Otherwise he wouldn't have asked me to be his girlfriend. Until she came. Emily entered the dance floor and started grinding against Jake as if he was her boyfriend. I was furious. Why was she getting so close to my man like that. I tried to ignore it. Damian and I were talking about the fact that the black Doritos were almost finished and then I saw it. Emily sat on Jake's lap and whispered something into his ear. Then he whispered something back and they both giggled. I was so angry I could feel my whole face turning red. Just when I thought things couldn't get worse, Emily looked right at me, grabbed Jake's hand and dragged him upstairs, where his bedroom was. I waited a bit, told Damian that I had to go to the bathroom and I secretly followed them. Thank god I didn't need to be quiet because there was music playing everywhere.

I put my ear up to the door thinking I would hear something but I didn't. I looked through the little key hole on the door and I saw the two of them undressing each other while kissing. I opened the door and started shouting.

-,,What the fuck Jake?" ,,Why are you kissing this fugly bitch?"

He pushed Emily off.

-,,Babe I can explain I promise".

-,,Sorry girl, I guess he likes me better" Emily said and blew me a kiss. I ran out of his house crying. Damian tried calling my name as I ran but I ignored him. I ran straight home. Jake kept on trying to call me but I ignored his calls. How could he have done that to me? Was I really not worthy of a good boyfriend? The next weeks at school, I tried my best to ignore him and Emily. She had replaced me. She stole my boyfriend and my spotlight. Everyone suddenly forgot about me. It was horrible. I had to live through high school as a shadow. The moment Jake cheated on me was the moment my commitment issues started. I promised myself that I would never get into a relationship again.
