아빠
Bin cracked open his eyes when he felt something heavy sitting on top of his chest. He blinked repeatedly to better identify the intruder who had disturbed his sleep. It felt a little too heavy to be Ji-Sub's cat. He'd told his cousin repeatedly not to bring his Maine Coon into Bin's apartment after the evil ball of fur had scratched up his brand new leather sofa.
"We need a baff, appa."
Seo-Jin bounced up and down on Bin's lower abdomen to properly wake him up like 'Mimo' had told him to do.
The twins had finally returned from their spaghetti dinner that Madame Jeong had managed to order and get delivered to the hospital cafeteria, from one of the best Italian restaurants in the city. Both Gong Ji-Cheol and his mother had joined Madame Jeong for the meal as the former had not had anything to eat since the morning.
After dinner, they had returned to Ye-Jin's room and found all three occupants now asleep. Ji-Cheol and his mother had organized the many bags from Loel's at one side of the room, and left the family for the evening.
That left Bin's mother with the tomato-stained twins who were starting to reek from their day inside a heated car. It wasn't the first time she had given the twins a bath, having stayed until their bedtimes the past week, but Ye-Jin had been around at the time, and it had been years since she'd had to handle a rambunctious toddler by herself, never mind two of them.
There was no way she was making Ye-Jin lift a finger, which left Bin as the only help available. He was their father after all. Today was as good a day as any to start acting like it.
"Go and wake appa up, Seo-Jin-ah."
SJ gave her a confused look. "But pop's not here," he replied, sticking his arms out at his side.
"He's not here, Mimo. He's back in Cal'fonia," MJ also added.
Sung-Ryung stared at both her grandchildren for a moment, her heart absolutely hurting for them and her son. The only 'appa' they knew was Ye-Jin's father. They had no concept of what a father was. If Ye-Jin and Bin had not found each other again, it was very likely that these children would have grown up without one, or would have ended up giving that title to someone else. That thought took her breath away and she felt a sudden urgency to correct it.
"See that ajussi?" Sung-Ryung pointed at Bin's sleeping form.
The twins bobbed their heads in sync. He had played with them at the park. They thought of him as another samchon just like Ji-Cheol samchon.
"That's your appa. Your dad. You know what daddies are, right?"
The twins looked at each other and as always, Min-Jung took the lead. "Spencer's daddy and Freddie's daddy?"
