louis always knew he was not like everyone else, he always knew he had a thing for boys and not girls. hell he was disgusted by them, he always saw girls manipulative and cruel. there were only three girls in his life whom he trusted and thought they were somewhat normal. they were his mother, sister and a maid who worked in his room. louis thought he had the life everyone dreamed of and he did that was until he turned 14.
it was a normal day when louis realized that he wasn't like everyone, instead he was gay. after a few days of finally understanding who he was and getting as much information as he could about it, he decided to tell his parents. he started telling them about this when they were having dinner and he was definitely not expecting what happened next. he was just about to finish his talk when his father picked up his plate and threw it across the room in anger. hearing the plate break into piece clicked something in louis' mind, the only thought going through his mind was 'what have i done'. but that wasn't the end. louis' father stood up and grabbed him by hair, dragging him to his room, once he was in the room, his father locked the door and said "till the time you understand that you are not a faggot you will not get out of this room" and left a crying louis inside not even bothering looking back.
the next day he wasn't allowed to leave the room due to last night's events so his maid, Ms. Jane came into the room with his breakfast, when she asked about what had happened he told her without hesitation because he knew he could trust her. he was a crying mess by the time he finished and Ms. Jane held him until he was calm. once louis was calm jane led herself out because she had to complete doing her chores but she promised to see louis after she would be done for the day. the day was like it had stopped because first, louis didn't have anything to do and second, because he couldn't stop thinking about last night.
when dinner time came by, louis was allowed to leave his room because his father had gone to attend some business in another part of the country. to say louis was happy was an understatement. his father going to the other side of the country? it must be some important work but that meant 2 months of freedom! after dinner ended, louis took a quick walk around the palace while talking to jane and went to sleep right after even though he wasn't really sleepy.
the next day he decided to roam around the kingdom when he found a small alley type way through a dark forest and found himself in-front of a tall tree which had a medium sized treehouse, he entered due to curiosity. he was surprised to see that the treehouse was open and empty but he decided it would be his safe place as it wasn't too far from his palace and it had a beautiful and soothing view of the outside. the place was covered with star-shaped lamps for light along with a soft white blanket spread on the floor, their were a few cusions and a small washroom at the back. the view from the treehouse was alluring, once he stared at it, it seemed like he could never take his eyes off of it. and from that day the treehouse became his safe place that no one knew about.
what he didn't know was that the place was already a happy place made by a lovely prince who would bring wonders in this dull but not so dull life.
