It was November and the cold wasn't long in coming to Tottoland...but there was something else beyond your doors...you were there, sitting in front of the fireplace in the living room with a sleepy expression; the warmth of the fire and the soft armchair made you feel good and comfortable.
You had decided to spend the rest of the afternoon there, waiting for Katakuri to return, until it got dark outside.

A few months had passed since the fight between the Straw Hat pirates and Big Mom's family and the consequences weren't insignificant; the empire capital had been heavily hit and took a long time to rebuild. As a Sweet Commander, Katakuri oversaw much of the work, particularly the reconstruction of the castle on Whole Cake Island...of course, after his physical condition recovered, which happened very quickly.

Very little was missing at the end; when she learned the new palace would be more majestic than the previous one, Linlin was over the moon and began eating endless amounts of sweets at her private banquets...you had to admit you have never seen a building like that.

However, due to this, you and Katakuri weren't able to see each other often, both during the day and night. That day, around lunchtime, he was back at the palace and, when you found out, you ran to join him, to finally be able to talk just for a moment...but you remained petrified by his answer.

《Sorry, but I don't have time to waste right now.》

That rudeness bothered you until you fell asleep blissfully in the armchair, in front of the lit fireplace.

《He must be very busy...》

You silently turned to the window at the far end of the living room.

《...but how could he treat me that way...he totally ignored me!》

You crossed your arms and snorted heavily; even though it was for his mother, you didn't like the idea that he was ignoring you because of her.
As you slowly blinked, now resigned to the idea of staying there, someone walked in the room.

《Katakuri?》  You quickly turned around hoping it was your husband.

But an old waitress approached you.

《You shouldn't stay up late, my lady...otherwise, your husband might worry a lot.》  The woman bent over the fire to rekindle it with more wood.

《He's not even here to do it. Don't worry about that, you shouldn't struggle at this hour.》

Despite your advice, the old woman limited herself to a simple smile.
《Very thoughtful of you, but this is my duty. Besides, I don't want you to risk getting cold.》

You appreciated her gesture and, as soon as she finished, she left you alone again wishing you goodnight.

《Don't worry about that, he will be back soon.》  She told you before closing the door.

A little blush appeared on your face and you wrapped yourself inside your soft blanket. In the end, you closed your eyes hoping to see him again there the next day.

The next morning, you woke up with a broken back; the fire had gone out and the light passed through the magenta curtains that covered the large windows.
You stretched before got up from your armchair. It was the first time you slept there and you were sure it would also be the last...
