"He was asleep?!" Cal laughed, she banged her hands against the table. Her exclamation caused several people to look over at our table. I sank further into the booth, my skin flushed at the embarrassment not only from having to tell Cal I declared my love to Sleeper while he was actually asleep, but the fact that she was practically barking with laughter at it in a public space. "I'm sorry... but that's fuckin' comical, you see the irony right?"

"Don't remind me." I muttered, pouting at the table. "people are starting to stare."

She wiped the tears from her eyes as she calmed down.

"Alright, alright." she smiled devilishly. "How was the sex though?"

I smiled, shaking my head at her. It was the day after, our escapades from last night. The moment we woke up we went for round two, had Cal not called we would have gone for another round. To say I was sore but deeply satiated was an understatement. I felt like I was still riding high.

"Better than I remembered." I repeated Sleepers words to Cal.

Cals eyes bulged out of her head. "Really? Jesus, maybe I need to have Viper leave for a year and come back then."

I rolled my eyes, shaking my head. "I think we're both just more comfortable with each other, we had only had sex a few times before he left and our relationship was long distance for a good portion of it the first time."

Cal nodded as she thought about it further. "I suppose that makes more sense. So is he planning on making it official?"

I knew what she meant. At the next meeting he had to declare his intentions to the club, and because I was the president's daughter, he had to approve. I could never gage my dads opinions well, but I doubted he would deny him. He knew if I was going to date anyone in the club, it would be Sleeper, no one else would do anymore.

"You know Derek's becoming a member at the next meeting right?"

"Honorary." I corrected her. He wouldn't earn any patches, though he'd be respected for his services and welcomed at the clubhouse. He would never be a full blown member. "Why did he even want to join anyway?"

Cal shrugged. "Beats the hell out of me, you're the one who knows him best."

I frowned, since I told him I was going to be with Sleeper, things had been pretty awkward between us. I wasn't sure what to say, even in passing at the hospital and seeing him at the clubhouse has been rather uncomfortable for the both of us. I knew if we could get past the awkwardness and move on, we'd be good friends, but unfortunately, I wasn't sure how to make that happen.

Cal and I chatted some more, going over some details for the next clubhouse party. Cal had taken to party planning like a second job whereas I was still stuck on ice duty, at least now I could drive a car. After we had finished our lunches we walked out of the diner. I had turned to say something to Cal when I bumped into a gentleman trying to go inside.

"Oh shit, I'm so sorry." I fumbled. I looked at the man and paused for a moment. He mumbled an apology of his own as he walked inside and I continued to stare through the glass door as he disappeared inside.

Cal snapped her fingers in front of my face to gain back my attention. "You were totally creeping that dude out."

"Sorry, I just thought- I don't know, come on let's get out of here." I said laughing off my lapse. We hooked arms and walked towards her car.

"So what do you think of this tile?" Sleeper said, showing me a sample piece up against the wall in the kitchen.
