"The Only Exception"

Kihyun rushed out of the building, finally free of the chains of his Valentino suit. He slinked through the dimly lit parking lot, casually strolling past the line of pretentious, overpriced cars. He had one thought on his mind, his new hobby, his new motivation to leave the office, with her by his side there was nothing he couldn't do.

And by her, he means his black beauty, her gold wheels glistening in the evening sun as he approached the bike feeling a wave of relief rush over his body. He let his fingertips stroke gently over the warm metal, as he mounted the bike taking in the peachy pink hues in the sky for a moment.

When a familiar voice broke the peace and quiet, "Hmmm... daddy brought you a new toy?" Son teased. "Hmph" Kihyun simply retorted turning away, he thought he had left that headache at the office. "She's a beauty" Son continued, appearing in Kihyun's peripherals as he checked out the bike. "I didn't think Yoo liked bikes" he added with a cheeky grin.

"He doesn't" Kihyun snapped, "I do, that's why I brought my own... can I help you?" he added scowling slightly at his rivals sudden intrusion on his downtime. "That sharp tongue will get you in trouble someday Yoo" Hyunwoo said giving him a little half-smirk as he shook his head. "My sharp tongue does me wonders I'll have you know" Kihyun said smirking himself as his eyes unwillingly travelled over the taller.

Of course, his business partner, and technically rival, would be ridiculous handsome, tall and fit. The fates either loved him or hated him, Kihyun wasn't sure which but it was awfully distracting trying to talk business tactics when Kihyun had a perfect view down Hyunwoo's open shirt most days. Maybe he should gift his counterpart a tie... but then again, he liked the view.

"So... you ride?" Hyunwoo asked, breaking Kihyun out of his thoughts, he snapped his head up gazing into Hyunwoo's dark, unreadable eyes. "Yeah, and?" he demanded still not fully grasping the situation. "Wanna race?" Hyunwoo asked, hitching an eyebrow up expectantly, as he pointed to a blue bike behind him.

"Deal" Kihyun agreed, tugging his helmet over his head before he had time to think, Why was Son acting friendly all of a sudden? All their interactions thus far have been stroppy, passive aggressive arguments in a bid to 'conquer the title of the best' for their fathers sakes. Kihyun pushed the thoughts to the back of his mind as he heard the others bike roar into life, he quickly followed suit as Hyunwoo pulled up beside him.

"Do you know the tunnel off of fifth?" Hyunwoo yelled over the rumble of the engines, "Yeah?" Kihyun asked, confusion and adrenaline pulsing through his veins. "Last one to other side pays for dinner" Hyunwoo called out as he kicked off, zooming into the distance before Kihyun had time to react. Dinner?! He didn't have time to panic, he kicked off himself quickly gaining on the other who seemed to almost be hovering, as if he was waiting for Kihyun.

Kihyun loved his bike, his entire life he has felt like a flightless bird tapped in a cage, but when he's riding nothing else mattered, he was finally free. Luckily, the roads were quite clear, the twilight sky Kihyun had been admiring a few moments earlier was already shifting into an inky blue, little twinkles appearing here and there. He weaved between the traffic that was there, eyes flickering over to Hyunwoo every now and then whose every movement seemed to be a challenge.

They both turned right, almost in sync as if they were ice skaters gliding over ice instead of riders on a road. Kihyun could see the tunnel in the distance the little orange lights blinking at him like a beacon. It was at that moment that Hyunwoo sped off with a deafening roar as he shot off in front of Kihyun, somehow he awoke the daredevil in Kihyun as he left the brake to rust, slamming down on the accelerator.
