"Hey!" Ezra meandered over to Sabine's room, leaning against the wall. "You busy?"
She looked up from her bunk, pieces of a comlink in her hands. After a moment of deliberation, she shook her head, setting the pieces of the comm down. "What's up?"
He entered the room, holding up a backpack. "Hera asked me to check out an old Republic listening post on a planet called Ison." He grinned. "Wanna come?"
Sabine smirked, rising and hoisting a bag over her shoulder. "Sure." She sidled up to Ezra, laying a hand flat on his chest as she ghosted her lips over his cheek. "See you on the Gauntlet," she whispered.
As she walked away, swaying her hips as though to tease him, Ezra stared after her for a few seconds, then smiled and followed.
This was sure to be an interesting trip.
. . . . . . . . . .
"We'll be back in about a week." Ezra shot Hera a tight smile. "If anything happens, comm us."
"Will do." She grinned, leaning against the holoprojector. "Enjoy your date."
As predicted, Ezra began to blush, rapidly turning to Rex. "Sabine said the mechanics finished adapting the speeders to the cold, so we should be able to begin using them for scouting."
Rex nodded. "Protocol was attaching tow cables to the back of the speeders in case one of them lost power."
"Hey, slowpoke!" Ezra's comm went off, and he chuckled as he lifted it. "Our gear's stored in the Gauntlet if you wanted to leave at some point."
Ezra smiled. "On my way." He glanced at Hera and Rex. "You'll be fine while I'm gone?"
Rex nodded as he pushed Ezra to the door. "Best not keep your lady waiting, commander."
. . . . . . . . . .
Sabine rolled her eyes as Ezra sat down. "There are others you can count on."
He nodded as the Gauntlet lifted off. "I know."
He didn't say anything else as they left Hoth, and Sabine felt bad for teasing him. For the past six months, he had been taking preparing the the Empire's attack far too seriously, to the point where the only time she saw him truly relax was at night. He was withdrawing, and she hated it.
To try and counter it, Sabine had more or less ordered Ezra to stay with her in her room, and a week after that, he had officially moved in. She suspected she was a better roommate than Zeb, anyway.
She had boobs.
Not that anything happened besides the occasional tease from either one of them, but the idea was very appealing to Sabine. She just didn't want to initiate that while Ezra was in this state of mind.
As the ship lurched to hyperspace, she leaned back in her chair, turning it to face Ezra. "Do you want to talk about it?" She asked softly, watching his eyes narrow slightly.
He shook his head. "I'm fine."
She sighed. "You had nightmares every night for two months."
Ezra folded his arms. "They stopped."
"Yeah, because I began sleeping with you." Sabine leaned forward, placing her elbows on her knees as she studied him. "You haven't dealt with why the nightmares happened."
