What were they doing again?

"Are you ready to go, big man?" Jack asked as he buckled his own seatbelt.

Oh, right. Jack had came to pick him up so they could hang out. Originally, Tommy had been super excited to see his friend, but he woke up with a fuzzy head and want to lay in bed and watch cartoons with his stuffies all day. Tommy silently buckled his seatbelt, fidgeting with his fingers and staring out the window.

"You doing alright, Tommy?" Jack asked, glancing between the teen and the road. "You seem a bit quiet today."

"Oh- y-yeah, 'm fine," Tommy lied poorly, clearly not convincing Jack but enough that he left it alone for the time being. "S-So, where are we going?"

"Probably just my apartment, that okay?"

"Yeah, 's fine."

They sat in silence for almost a half an hour, and in that time Jack continued to notice small things amount Tommy; little quirks that normally wouldn't be seen, but were only made more noticeable in the small proximity. The blond's hands moved between shuffling in his lap to tugging at the hem of his light blue sweatshirt, the strings of which he chewed on idly. He even slipped his shoes off and crossed his legs on the seat, swaying lightly to whatever was in his head.

It was only once Tommy began to babble to himself and making small, random noises that Jack had enough. Thankfully, they'd already pulled into the parking lot of his apartment building, so they had time to spare.

"Alright, are you going to tell me what the hell's going on with you?" Jack demanded, softening when he saw Tommy flinch. Maybe his tone was a bit harsher than he meant it to be. "Tommy?"

"'M-M jus' feelin' smowl," the blond slurred softly, spitting out the hoodie string as he spoke. Jack's eyebrow quirked.

"'Small?' What do you mean, bud?" He asked curiously, noting the way Tommy perked up at the nickname.

"I feelin' dis manys," the blond explained - well, kinda - and held up two fingers. Jack nodded, although he still wasn't sure what it meant entirely. Tommy rubbed his nose and bopped his head slightly. "C'n we go's in an-an' watch 'toons?"

"Uh- sure, Toms," Jack agreed, shrugging to himself. It couldn't hurt to play into this, considering it didn't seem to be hurting anything. Tommy giggled at the nickname, but whined as he fumbled with the seatbelt buckle. "Do you need help, buddy?"

"Yes, p'ease," Tommy blushed, a little embarrassed even in his mentally-small state. Jack came around to his side of the car, undoing the buckle and when Tommy stumbled, he caught him.

"Legs fall asleep, kid?" He laughed, getting a bright smile from the little as well. Jack tried to let go, but Tommy clung to him and whined when he did. Eventually, he gave up on trying to separate them and just pulled Tommy along by the hand, which pleased the little enough.

The front door unlocked with a click, and Jack sent Tommy into the living room to find a show to watch. The prospect of cartoons excited Tommy enough to get him to stop clinging to Jack's arm, so that left the 18-year-old to contemplate what just happened. Putting his head in his hands, Jack began to mutter to himself.

"Okay okay okay- your friend is acting like a two year old and keeps clinging to you despite the fact that he normally hates being called clingy," he paused, eyebrows furrowing. "How do you Google that?"

He settled on 'Adult acting like a child' - although he'd never admit to Tommy that he referred to him as an adult - and stumbled onto a few articles about something called "age regression." After a bit of scrolling, Jack finally got a grip on what had happened with Tommy.

So he's regressing because he's stressed? Jack reasoned, I guess that makes sense, being a streamer can be pretty stressful.

When Jack entered the living room, he found that Tommy's eyes were glued to the TV, mesmerized by the puppets on the screen. He chewed on the collar of his hoodie lazily, snuggling up to Jack's side when he sat next to the boy, content.
