Chapter 6

Clary POV

"Alec!" I called through the door. I just finished taking a shower and II've forgotten my clothes. I was just about to call again when there was a knock at the door. I gasped startled.

"Oh I'm so sorry Clary! I didn't mean to scare you. I knew why you were calling me. I saw you clothes on the bed so I got them. And uh here we are now?" Alec blurred out embarrassed. I thanked him and he gave me the clothes then shut the door. I laughed at how cute he was being. Yes, I have been getting over Jace. But the thing is, Alec is Jace's parabatai and I don't want to break their bond.

I've heard if a pair of parabatai end up breaking their bond, they usually never find another compatible for parabatai. But if they do find a compatible person,which was extremely rare, they won't be able to get marked again. If they were found marking each other with the rune illegally, I think if I'm correct, they either strip you of your angel blood an you become a mundane or you will be exiled depending on your background.

I stepped out of the bathroom with a towel turbaning my hair. Alec was on my bed reading a mundane book trilogy called Divergent that I recommended to him. I taught him a lot of mundane things. I went up behind him and hugged his midsection. He tense up at first, his shadowhunter sensed were overshadowing his relaxed mind. He then relaxed when I put my chin on his shoulder letting Alec know it was me.

"Hey there Strawberry Shortcake. Sorry about earlier." Alec said to me.

"Don't worry about it. I mean at least I didn't go out naked right? But now to be mean or anything, I wouldn't care because you're gay, right?" I asked.

"Uh actually... I don't know anymore. Those mundane celebrity women may not be shadowhunters, but they are extremely attractive. Some men are also as well..." He trailed off with a prominent blush arising from his cheeks.

"Aww. It's ok Alec. No need to be embarrassed. I think that's adorable. By the way liking boys and girls means your bisexual now. And thanks for telling me this now. I know not I can't change in front of you. I don't need peeving eyes."

Alec smiled with his pearly white teeth. How has he never had braces? Why couldn't I have perfect teeth like that? Instead I had to wear braces for 2 years an a retainer for an extra one. I was about to say something when my girl best friend Isabelle, Alec's sister came rushing through the door.

"Clary! There you are! Of course your with Alec. You never spent time with me anymore." She pouted. Even like this she's still flawless. UGH! WHY DO THE LIGHTWOODS NEED TO BE BETTER LOOKING THAN ME?!

"Aww. Poor you Isabelle. But I'm sorry. I haven't been spending a lot of time with you since..it. How 'bout I make it up to you this weekend?" I didn't realize my mistake until it was out. My eyes widen and I looked to Alec for help. He just watched amused. Isabelle however wore a wicked grin when she said," Great! We're having a shopping spree!! There are sales that are to die for at that mundane mall in the city! Be up early tomorrow or I'll wake you up myself.

With that she strutted out of the room, victory radiating off her in frequent waves. I looked at Alec and gave him the help-me-make-an-excuse-to-get-away-from-your-sister's-shopping-spree-and-avoid-torture look. He just smirked at me and said,"Have fun with Izzy little Clary." And left the room.

When he left I face anted into my pillow and screamed. Ugh! Fuck my fucking life!
