Otto's pov:

"Babeeeeee," I called out, closing the door behind me. "I'm home."

I walked into the main room of the Airbnb, spotting Geoff sitting on the couch with his back to me.

"Hey," he replied, his voice sounding deeper than usual. "How was the movie?"

"Pretty good!" I tried to keep my tone light. "I know you don't like scary movies, but thanks for letting me go see it anyway, next time we can see something together that you like." I lied.

I walked over so that I was standing in front of him, noticing his unsmiling expression.

That wasn't like him.

"Is everything alright?" I hesitantly moved closer to him.

"You left your phone here," he stated calmly, but his words cut deep.

"Oh," I muttered. "My bad."

"Yeah," he sat up straighter. "You wouldn't want me finding out about Awsten wouldn't you? That's his name, right? The one you've been talking to. The one you just met up with."

I could feel my heart pounding in my chest.

"Yeah he texted you about 10 minutes ago. I just thought you should know that he had a fun time today."

"Geoff-"

"No, no, it's fine." But Geoff's tone was still icy. "I don't care. Talk to who you want, flirt with who you want, lie to who you want, I don't care, just leave me out of it."

"Geoff," I said again. "I'm so sorry, please listen to me. I swear nothing happened, we're just friends, nothing happened I swear." But in the back of my head I was still thinking about kissing Awsten.

Something had most definitely happened.

"Why would you lie to me?" I could hear the hurt in his voice. "If you're 'just friends' then why didn't you tell me? I was so stupid. I should've known something was going on. No one fucking takes a vacation in LA. God, fuck you, you must've been thinking this whole time 'Geoff won't find out' but this is how karma works isn't it-"

"Geoff..." I interrupted him, attempting to explain myself.

"NO. FUCK YOU." I winced. Geoff had never yelled at me.

"I'm sorry," I croaked out, my voice breaking.

We stood there for a few moments, Geoff trying to calm his breathing, and me trying to stop the tears that had brimmed at the corners of my eyes.

Geoff walked over to me eventually, pulling me into a hug. I pressed myself into his embrace, wishing I could just disappear.

"I wish you would've told me," he said softly.

"Me too," I said, this time I was being honest. "I do too."
