"When did this one get to be so smart?" Lindsey asked, as Stevie contorts her face in a comical way.

"Must be the Nicks genes in you," She tilts her head, while eliciting a grin, as she tousles Danica's curls.

Lindsey gives Stevie a blank expression, while subtly gesturing towards Danica with his hand.

They have yet to break the news to Danica that she is biologically their daughter. Yes, they may have 'adopted' her--- Though Danica doesn't know that they are also her birth parents.

Danica had always thought that it was so neat that she and Stevie had shared the same haircolor, and eye color; And she loved how her hair was extremely curly, just like Lindsey's.

"The Nicks genes in me?" Danica said, as she points to herself.

"What are you saying?" Danica asked, point blank.

She averts her gaze to Stevie, then to Lindsey; As they are both struggling to find the right words to say.

"Heh.. Well, sweetheart.. You know how we adopted you?" Lindsey tries to explain gently to Danica.

"Yes... After my mommy and daddy went to heaven," Danica said, as she then elicits a perplexed expression. "Why?"

"When you were born, we were in the room when you had made your grand entrance into the world," Lindsey said, clearing his throat.

"Yes, I know that already," Danica tells them; They turn to each other with an equally shocked expression etched on their faces.

"You d-do?" Stevie asked in a low voice, as Danica nods in response.

"H-how? How do you know, Dani?" Lindsey asked, as he places his hands into his pockets.

"Of course... Jo and Dale.." He sighs, under his breath.

"I mean, your mom and dad," Lindsey said, as he inhales, then slowly exhales.

"What all did they tell you, baby?" Asked Stevie, as she places her hand on Danica's shoulder.

"That's all.. That you were there when I was born," Danica lifts up her hands.

"Oh, I see---" Stevie said, as her voice had trailed off; Trying to think of what to say next.

Although there is no right way to go about this conversation, Stevie and Lindsey both knew that they had to tread lightly.

"What more do you want to hear? That I also know that Johnny Carson was on, in the background," Danica jests. "A repeat, of course," She sighs.

"That's incredible! You must have premonitions, too!" Lindsey exclaims with wide eyes.

"Can it, Lindsey!" Stevie sighs, shooting him daggers.

"Sweetheart. Years ago, uhm... Your daddy," Stevie said, as she points to Lindsey, then clears her throat.

"Your daddy and I had found out that we were expecting a baby, and, well---"

Lindsey could tell that Stevie was about to burst into tears, so he signals for her to stop talking, as he had grasped for her hand, then gives her a tight squeeze for support.

"Neither of us were ready to become parents.. And, even though we loved the baby sooo much," Stevie exclaims, adding emphasis on baby and so.

Stevie wipes a tear away from her eye, as she opens her mouth, while simultaneously emitting an exasperated sigh.

"We wanted to give our Beautiful baby the best life possible---" Stevie's voice trails off, as she places her hand over her mouth.
