** Two years later**

** Beeeezzzz**

Sakura woke up groggily whining like a wounded animal, legs kicking down the cotton bed clothes and her hand reached for the irritatingly ringing alarm clock. Despite her sleepy state, she was careful enough not to smash down the clock and instead, annoyingly clicked the button on it to shut down the goddamn sound. This clock was the fifth one in three months and all the other previous alarms had gone into shattered pieces by her monstrous smack as they happened to wake her up from her much-needed slumber in the worst time. She was so fed up with having to buy alarms and didn't want to spend her money on them anymore, at least not in this month. Sighing heavily, Sakura got up and prepared for her busy day that's lying ahead. Ever since the war was over, the workload in hospital never seemed to reduce. There're always sick people and injured shinobis and her schedule was usually full with surgeries, discussions, research or even training and supervising the new medics. Not that she complained about that, she loved her job from the bottom of her heart. She loved how she was acing medical skills and being able to save people's lives filled her with ecstasy and pride. As much as she enjoyed her job, there're always unfavorable circumstances that made her ass tired as hell and she sometimes hoped to get free time that's all to herself.
Sakura went into the bathroom and studied her reflection at the mirror. There were dark bags under her eyes and she looked awfully tired. Though she had just turned 20 not so long ago, she was feeling like a grumpy woman in her forties who couldn't enjoy her life to the fullest and was pessimistic about everything. Her pink hair fell around her shoulders, messy and tangled, due to her rough night sleep. She made no effort to smooth it down but took a mental note to give extra care to them and her skin once she's got a full day off. She was always being so attentive about her body and skin to keep them healthy, but those days she was super busy with new medics and important patients waiting in line to see her that drained her energy to bits. Life as the best medic nin wasn't as easy as people think after all.
When she finally made it to the hospital, nurses and other medics were running around indicating there was an emergency case. One of them spotted her and she called out, running towards her, "Sakura-san!"

"Ami, What's wrong?"

"A group of jounins was attacked during their mission. We're taking care of the two and the other two, they were unconscious and severely injured." She panted worriedly.

"Alright. Let's go," said Sakura and without wasting a second, she turned her heels and rushed to the emergency room. Just as she turned, a bandaged hand gripped her arm forcing her to turn around.
It was a Shinobi, cuts and bruises all over his body and the other arm that wasn't gripping her seemed broken. Sakura immediately knew he was one of those injured ninjas.

"Sakura-sama. Please save my friends." The man begged so shakily, so expectantly as if she were the only goddess who could save his friends.

Sakura pursed her lips and nodded firmly, "I will do everything in my power to save them." She couldn't promise anything but she refused to let Konoha's shinobis die under her watch. This man will see his friends again, she swore.
"Now, you go get your medical attention. Don't worry too much." She said and left for the emergency room.

The operation took longer than she had expected. The two shinobis were still not conscious but they would be soon. She managed to stop bleeding in time and the healing process went well. They will live. By the time she was back at her office, it was already half past two and she noticed grumbling noises of her stomach. Her breakfast had been simple toast and coffee, yet she had used up over half of her chakra with just one morning. Wearily taking off her duty coat, she propped herself down in her chair, messaging her tired temples and thinking what to grab for a quick lunch.
