Author's Note!
Hello Everyone! I just wanted to say that the boys most likely will not come in until the 3rd, 4th, or even 5th chapter! But I promise it will be good!!

*ONE WEEK LATER*
Carson’s P.O.V.
This week has been hell.
The first three days we practiced our song, they gave us Pepsi and chips to see if we would eat them, because they are bad for your voice. Erica and I didn’t since we thought about it, but the people that did got HELL! I MEAN SIMON COMING OVER AND SAYING WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU DRINKING? It was pretty terrifying.
We sang our first song, mine was “Your Song” while Erica’s was “Take a Bow”. We both did perfectly and all the judges said we did very well. We then were called back to see who made it and we both did! YAY!! One step closer....
Now we are waiting to see who our partners for our duets are. This is hard, because you want someone that you think you can beat since one of you goes home. Erica and I sit nervously as the judges’ start listing people.
“Ryan Theodore and Lisa Reinhart”
“Tim Smith and Ted Hill”
“Kelly Rain and Alicia Young”
“Erica Warren....” We both looked at each other nervously, “and Carson Jackson”
Our mouths dropped, we don’t even know how to react. I am just speechless! How the fuck could they put us together! This is so not fair! AHHH WHY US? I guess we will just have to see who they like better....
Erica’s P.O.V.
AHHHHH. I can’t believe out of the 40 people here we get paired up! Not fair! At the same time I don’t want to go home, but I don’t want her to go home either! AHHH, I just can’t believe it! We have both been loved by the judges so why put us together? Maybe they have a plan? I hope so!
My thoughts were interrupted by Simon saying that they picked songs for us to sing so we could go get them. Carson and I looked at each other and we both kind of knew that it had to come down to this so we just see how it goes. We ran up there to see our song. Being Carson and I, we pushed our way through to see what our song was. Both of our mouths dropped....
”DEFYING GRAVITY?” We both yelled at the same time.
“That is one of the hardest songs!” Carson tried to say, but came out more of a scream.
Simon came over to us and said, “Can I talk to you girls for a minute?” We both just nodded and we went to a quieter place since most people were freaking out about their songs. “I would actually like to help you two girls with this song. The judges and I decided to give you this song since we know you two are powerful singers. Erica, you are going to have the melody when it comes to the harmonizing. Carson, you will have the harmony. We want to see if you two girls can do this together.”
“But if we are such powerful singers, then why did you put us together?” Carson said basically reading my mind.
“Because we only need one powerful girl teen singer....not two so I am sorry, but this is our way to see who will be better,” He stated and was about to turn around, but then said, “Oh and meet me in room 104 so we can start rehearsing in 20 minutes!” With that he left.....
Carson’s P.O.V.
AHHHH I CAN’T FUCKING BELIEVE WE HAVE THIS SONG AND THEY ARE DOING THIS TO US! THEY CAN’T HAVE TWO POWERFUL GIRL SINGERS MY ASS! THAT IS THE POINT OF THE COMPETITION! And plus....I have the harmony so it isn’t like they will hear me hit high notes. I am happy for Erica, but still! I wish I could have done it!
“So.....I can’t believe they did this to us,” Erica says awkwardly.
“YEAH! But you know what? We both just need to try our hardest and prove to Simon we both belong!”
“Yes, let’s go show him!” Erica said and with that we went into room 104.
*TWO DAYS LATER*
Carson’s P.O.V.
Ok....today’s that day I thought to myself. Just try your best, you will be fine. I try to comfort myself, but it wasn’t working....Today was the day that we finally sang our duet. Erica and I practiced all day and night. Simon was a big help with everything, focusing most his attention on us, which was kind of weird, but oh well!
Duets were going and if I do say so myself, Erica and I sound a LOT better than a lot of them. Erica and I were sitting on the side when all of a sudden....”Next is.....Erica Warren and Carson Jackson.” Oh shit I thought to myself....here goes nothing....
Erica’s P.O.V.
Oh crap! Did I just hear right? Did they just say Carson and I? Ok, Erica don’t freak out, just go and do your best! We walked up there and said, “Hi, we are singing Defying Gravity!”
The music came on....here goes nothing.....
I look up to the audience and pretend no one is there and start singing....
Me:

As soon as I hit those last notes, I knew that this was going to be a hard decision of who goes home....We both sang it perfectly and by the reaction on Simon’s face he was happy. Demi’s and Brittany's faces were both in complete shock and I didn’t know how this was going to go.....
