☣Ally's POV☣
One year later. . .
I sat at the bottom of the marble staircase staring at the files with each of our faces paperclipped to them. Maggie was down on the bomb shelter, bagging the supplies into large army duffle bags our dad had given us. Each bag had our first letter of our first name, our middle name, and last night stitched onto it. We both were supplied with one duffle bag, one backpack, a jacket that said Air Force and our last name. Dad said that we would receive a pin to put on our jackets if this mission was a success.
I sat down Maggie and Maddy's files and reopened mine. It had all of my information on; from birth date and time, where I was born, and where I live, to from my favorite activities, foods, places, and friends and siblings. Technically, my sisters and I have officially been enrolled into the U.S Air Force to be sent on a classified mission to Atlanta, Georgia instructed by the president.
The mission wasn't originally allocated to us, but was consigned to us when dad came out infected with the zombie virus that has now reached every corner and angle of our country. The worst part is, there's no where to go. Since the Air Force has access to U.S. helicopters and airplanes, the mission was designated to the leader, the general, our father. Almost the whole military has been wiped out and, according to our father, "There is no one else stronger that he can trust to execute the mission and to return home safely in success."
We didn't understand at first, but his eyes rolled into the back of his head, and his heart monitor went off. It took forever for Maggie to calm down and even Maddy won't say a word to anyone unless it's us, and only us alone. This happened two months after we were trapped inside the bomb shelter. As everyone else was struggling and fighting in the battle field, we were hiding away, fighting in training to unleash ourselves to the battlefield.
In my file, I'm the quiet one; I'm fast on my feet, and I'm quick to do anything. "You're silent, but deadly." Commander Marshal, our trainer, had told me. Maddy is the lab rat; she can hack anything without a problem and can crack code like a peanut in the palm of her hand. And then there's Maggie who's the intelligent one; she can basically do whatever we can, but she knows what to do in any circumstances.
Commander Marshal passed away a couple of months ago when he was scratched and turned into "A Walker". The zombies that are out there in our world, killing and eating us, are defined as walkers. We plan on putting a stop to them. Seven months of training better pay off, is all I can tell myself.
"Bitch, your bag is full! Come get it!" Maggie yelled from the basement. I hated my name, it just didn't suit me. So I had my sisters give me a nickname: Bitch.
"I'm coming, Magaroos." I chuckled, hoping she didn't hear me. But nothing gets by Maggie, especially Maddy.
"Don't call me that!" She yelled back as her voice descended farther away. I went down the wooden steps and picked up my Air Force army bag that said "A. Grace Daniels" on the side. Below it said, "U.S. Air Force". I carried the massively heavy duffle bag back up the stairs and found Maddy opening her backpack, shoving boxes of ammo inside. The duffle bag and the backpack were identical in color, Air Force cammo of different shades of brown and tan colors. Soon enough, a U.S. Marines helicopter would be landing in the venue on our roof to pick us up, and we would be off to Atlanta.
I ran upstairs to my room surprisingly fast, I had always been slow and weak, never strong or fast. This new me is something I would only dream of, taking that my stomach is a bottomless pit and I never stop eating junk food. I was trained to change that aspect of myself because I would have to take pride and respect my supplies, for that they will go fast in a blink of an eye.
