Maddy's POV

Once Ally and I caught up to Maggie, we passed the white letters that were smeared on the windshield of a car. I could see Maggie's facial expression slowly faded into a frown.

"Um, so we should just keep going this way?" I asked. Nobody answered, cueing me to roll my eyes. Ally pulled Maggie away from the message. Before we bounced our way up the rocky dirt road, we made sure that our jeep was secure from anybody who might want to steal it.

For a while we were on the trail, taking Rex, Chelsea, Fido, and Bob with us who were trotting behind. Chelsea found some rotten walker bodies with its arms decapitated from its body, and it's head stranded a few feet away; a clean cut right through the neck.

"Damn." I said looking at the body, crouching down with my machine gun around my neck and close to my chest in grasp.

Maggie replied as she walked over to me, "That is some crazy ass katauna shit right there." Herself and Ally started to laugh like idiots, but controlled themselves instantly.

"What is a katauna?" I said in confusing tone. My sisters stared at me in awe as they just shook their heads, and kept walking up the road. I rose my shoulders in question as I watched them walk off. I'm not stupid—sometimes.

We started to walk towards a little village just North East of the interstate, where no person, or walker, was in sight. The first thing Ally had spotted was a house that looked like it had medical supplies in it; she announced her discovery by jumping up and down, pointing in the direction.

Maggie and I looked at each other with eyebrows scrunched in confusion. She made me want to scream out in thin air, 'Where's the nearest mental asylum?'

Maggie sighed as she shook her head, taking a step forward towards our sister. "It's the best chance we have to find medical supplies or maybe even medicine. I think we need to let the dogs rest."

"Yeah, lets go." I grabbed my machine gun pointed with my eye lined up with the scope and hand on the trigger as Ally and Maggie did the same, creeping towards the door.

"Ok, on three." I said as we were all lined up in a row; Ally, Maggie and I. "One. . . Two. . ." I gripped my machine gun so hard that my hands started to sweat. "Three!!"

Maggie and I slammed our feet as hard as we could through the door causing it to knock down just like that. We sprawled out as fast as we could. Maggie on the left, Ally in the middle, then myself on the right. We saw a whole bunch of chairs stacked up all the way to the ceiling and some knocked down with a walker on the side lying down.

"It looks like someone was already here." Maggie said walking towards the towering chairs.

"Yea, I hope they didn't take much." Ally said. I ignored their conversation walking away trying to find at least something or anything for us to survive off of. I mean, we have plenty of supplies back at the jeep, but it doesn't hurt to have extras for the dogs or any survivors that are worth saving.

I found one granola bar on the ground in the corner. Cobwebs around it with some dried blood on the floor and walls around it. Yeah it seemed sketchy, but I still went for it. Sweeping the webs away, I saw some light from the window shining down on it. It was the perfect scene for me to grab it, then a group of walkers to start flying towards me, causing me to loose my weapon and then be eaten alive.

A shiver traveled down my spine and just decided to let that one go. I mean we already had enough food. I searched the back diner and yelled, "All clear." Seconds later, my search was disrupted by my irksome sisters calling out to me.

"Maddy, come on. We found some water behind these chairs." Ally shook the bottles of water and headed out the door. I soon followed as we were back on the road again. It was getting dark and we knew that it wouldn't be safe if we didn't find the lab soon enough.
