Months had passed, and the cool autumn breeze changed to a cold winter storm. Quidditch season had gone by in a flash with Slytherin winning the quidditch cup. Jake and Sunghoon managed to finish their project for History of Magic which they received 100% on. Seeing that there was no reason to keep in contact the two returned to their distant relationship. Their group of friends got closer, but the two of them were still so far away. It was now December and in a couple of weeks, the students had the option to return home for the holidays. The group of seven boys planned a trip to Hogsmeade together, wanting to spend some time together before the holidays. Upon arrival, the group of friends decided to split ways and then meet up in an hour at The Three Broomsticks. That's how Jake and Sunghoon ended up stuck together. Although their rivalry had died down, they weren't exactly on speaking terms either. Neither one of them had the confidence to approach the other first. Ever since Sunghoon had complimented Jake they became even more awkward. Jake suggested that they go to Honeydukes Sweetshop, which Sunghoon agreed to. They walked around the shop looking to stock up on sweets. Both Sunghoon and Jake reached to grab a bag of toffee, their hands slightly brushing. They both immediately pulled their hands away.

"You can grab one first," said Jake.

"Oh, thanks," replied Sunghoon shyly. The two of them finished their candy restock and decided to roam the other stores. Seeing that it had almost been an hour they headed to The Three Broomsticks to wait for their friends. Jake suggested that they order drinks ahead for their friends. So there they were, sitting across from each other with seven butterbeers in front of them. They took sips from their cups, trying to look anywhere else except each other. Jake being the mess he is, had a little bit of foam remaining on his lips. Sunghoon noticed it and out of instinct reached to wipe it away with his finger. Realizing what he just did he quickly apologized.

"I am so sorry, it just happened out of instinct," Sunghoon apologized rapidly.

"It's fine. At least now I won't look like a fool," Jake replied. He gave Sunghoon a smile, making the other boy feel relieved. Internally Jake was panicking, his heart rate going through the roof. Had he been so blind for the past three years of his life that he didn't realize that maybe Sunghoon wasn't as bad as he thought. Luckily Sunoo, Niki, and Heeseung arrived to break the silence, Jay and Jungwon yet to show up. Sunoo took a seat next to Jake, Niki inbetween Heeseung and Sunghoon. It took a few minutes before Jay and Jungwon finally showed up, both with remains of a blush on both of their faces. Jungwon took a seat next to Sunoo and Jay sat at the side of the table.

"What are your plans for the holidays?" Heeseung asked once everyone was comfortable.

"I'm heading home to spend the holidays with my family," responded Sunoo.

"Same goes for me," said Jungwon.

"I'll also be heading home, and I'll be taking Niki with me," Jay added, giving Niki a pat on the shoulder.

"What about you two, any plans?" Sunoo asked Jake and Sunghoon.

"I'll be staying here like always. It's no use going back for the holidays. My parents are always scheduled to work at the hospital," Jake sighed, a hint of despair in his voice.

"Same for me. My parents are never free during the holidays anyways. There's no point in going home," Sunghoon responded.

"Well would you look at that. The two of you have something in common," Jay joked. Sunghoon gave him a deadpan look.

"I have an idea. Why don't the two of you spend the holidays together here," Heeseung recommended.

"You might want to prepare a bed for them in the hospital wing," Jungwon teased. Niki snickered at the comment. Heeseung's suggestion was deemed as pointless by everyone. A universe where Sunghoon and Jake could spend the holidays together was unimaginable. However, maybe it was possible. There had been no reports of the two fighting in the past months, and they seemed capable of tolerating each other.
