Prologue

Rivalry. It was the only word that people could use to describe the relationship between Jake and Sunghoon. The two were always competing. Everyone that attended Hogwarts was aware of the rivalry between the two, those that didn't would soon enough learn.

It started in their 1st year. The Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff students had Charms class together that year. Sunghoon and Jake were sat together and had only just met each other. They had recognized each other from their first night when they were getting sorted into their houses. They were waiting in line next to each other and briefly introduced themselves. That day they were learning the levitation spell. The professor had called on Jake to try and perform the spell, but to much avail, he failed. Sunghoon was called on next and performed the spell on his first try. Jake felt embarrassed. Sunghoon only made matters worse when he laughed at the other boy for being unable to do the spell on his first try. At that moment, Jake declared that he would beat Sunghoon in everything else. Sunghoon replied in short that he would like to see Jake try.

Whenever they walked past each other, a sudden chill would come over, tension filling the room. This was normal behavior for the two of them. No one was surprised at the way the two of them treated each other. The constant insults, the sly jabs, and the smirks that were thrown between the two were so common that one might think they would never learn to be friends. In reality, it was quite the contrary. Three years later and the two boys were in their fourth year. Amidst the chaos of it all, feelings between the two started to change. Their thoughts of each other morphing into something far from hostile. Would things be left as is, or would they get their own happy ever after?
