Chapter 3: A Knight's Resolve

27 times. They saw Iida 27 times that day.

Deku and Uraraka would always find themselves on the path. And every 20-30 minutes they'd hear a cry from the woods. And every time they'd find Iida. and every time they'd free him, say their goodbyes, and continue. And then that cycle will repeat over and over with Iida refusing to spend more than 5 minutes with them.

It was already night. Deku and Uraraka were exhausted, and once again they heard a cry from the woods.

"Um Deku?" Uraraka asked in a tired tone, "Would it be bad if instead of saving Iida, we pretend we didn't hear anything and continue on the quest?"

"Of course it would!" Deku said in an equally tired tone, "We're heroes on a quest! We must protect everyone! No matter how repetitive...and tiring it may be.."

Deku and Uraraka dragged their feet back into the woods to find Iida wrapped in vines.

"Again?" Deku asked.

"IT'S THE CURSES FAULT!" Iida cried, "EVERYTIME I TAKE A STEP, MORE VINES GROW!!"

"I have an idea," Uraraka said. Her voice sounded as if she were about to take a nap, "There's not much, *yawn* vines on the path Iida. How about you join me and Deku on our quest..?"

"NO!" Iida cried in ana angered tone, "I HAVE MY OWN QUEST TO DEAL WITH!"

"What even is your quest Iida?" Deku said unsheathing his sword, "You keep talking about one but you never actually say what it is. *yawn* Now i don't wanna seem rude or anything, but your quest doesn't seem very important if you-"

"Not important? NOT IMPORTANT?! MY QUEST OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE! SOMEONE LIKE YOU WOULDNT UNDERSTAND!"

"Then let us understand!" Uraraka cried, "We'll understand and help anyway we can! Even if we don't know you very well, we'll help you any way we-"

"NO! This is MY QUEST!" It is I who must defeat the evil STAIN WIZARD! It is I Who must take revenge for him TURNING MY BROTHER TO STONE! This is something I must do! I MUST TAKE MY REVENGE!"

Uraraka was shocked. That's why Iida lashed out when he first met her. He didn't have a good past with magic users!

"You're wrong." Deku said in a serious tone. Iida and Uraraka turned to him, "First of all you're a little in over your head. If your enemies are a WIZARD and your, correct me if i'm wrong, a HUMAN, why is doing it alone the best option?"

"I didn't come here alone!" Iida said in an angered tone, "I came with Ayoma, a fellow knight-!"

"Then where is he right now?"

"He ran off and got lost-!"

"THEN WHY DIDN'T YOU LOOK FOR HIM? Instead of LOOKING AFTER A FELLOW KNIGHT YOU RUN OFF ON YOUR OWN!"

"Was it Stain who cursed you? Uraraka asked, stepping closer to Iida, "Did he curse your friend too?"

"I-i don't know.." Iida said embarrassed, "He just ran off and-"

"HE COULD BE HURT!" Deku cried. He's never yelled at someone like this before. But he was tired, cranky, and not in the right mind, "HE COULD BE KILLED! HE COULD NEED YOU RIGHT NOW! BUT HERE YOU ARE, TRYING TO GET REVENGE-!"
