S1 E1

The tension between them could be seen by everyone.

Vivan held Faith in her arms as she kept her warm and Gretchen waited for Johnny in the car. Johnny finished signing things for fans and just wanted to go home before the recording sessions drained him to death.

Paparazzi surrounded the street just as the band left the place and reporters filled the scene. Bloggers and journalists typed out many articles of the band's opening night at one of well known clubs in town.

Johnny glanced at Vivan and he remained speechless. He got in the car and they sped off as if nothing happened. Did he just see the girl he had a one night stand with?

"What happened out there?" Gretchen asked him since she was worried about him.

He brushed it off when he thought he saw something and they carried out their conversation. Gretchen didn't suspect a thing and Johnny kept his cool throughout the night around her.

When they arrived home, he called two of his close friends to meet him at his house tomorrow afternoon. Gretchen would be at the school tomorrow due to her soccer team having a game and that was when Johnny took the opportunity.

He just hoped that no one knew about his secret.

"What are you going to do, man?" Vic Lakota asked him after he confessed to him and Nala, his other close friend, the situation.

He broke down crying as he panicked but his friends tried calming him down by assuring him that everything would be fine. Vic assured him that whoever he saw was probably a mistake and that no one would be that selfish to claim that he's the father. The young rockstar began overthinking about what he saw as he was at his peak in his career and being a parent this young wasn't on his list.

"You're not telling Gretchen, aren't you?" they asked him as they drank on his patio and he stayed silent in his thoughts. Tell her what "oh I slept with a fan last year and I think we have a baby now. I'm a daddy to someone, Gretchen." Johnny thought to himself as he walked around his patio and collected his thoughts before he had a panic attack.

Johnny begged them not to tell anyone or else it could ruin his music career and his relationship with Gretchen. Especially his relationship.

"It's probably not the same chick you slept with, Johnny. There's many single mothers in this city, so stop worrying about it and focus on better things," the pep talk helped him but wouldn't help him when the time came to meeting his daughter.

While they chatted about different topics, Nala left Johnny's house when she received a message from an unknown number. Johnny asked her if she needed a ride but she told him that she would be meeting up with friends downtown. The way she weirdly left didn't fit right with them but Vic told Johnny that there wasn't anything that they needed to worry about. Nala stormed out of his place within seconds as time was critical for her, and took the first bus downtown at the bus stop.

Nala wasn't technically signed with their label since Elias thought it wouldn't be necessary to have her sign their contract. She would be working 2-3 times throughout the year with them and the other months she spent with other underground bands. Paying her only when needed would save him tons of cash, and saving cash sounded great to him. Since she didn't sign a contract, she worked for anyone, and getting paid was all she cared about. With the band being an underground band and not doing shows at the moment, Elias wanted them to put out several albums before doing anything serious.

However, with the band getting more attention, he changed her contact and had her work with them with everything music related. Now, she'll be helping in the studio as well as doing their future photo shoots as the photographer she is but only pay her when the real work starts.

She met up with one of the bands she was currently promoting and she was creating their website. Simon helped her with their website by playing with the fonts and adding photos to get fans' attention. Simon added some clips of his band playing some of their songs and them introducing themselves while Nala worked on the not so fun parts of the website. Taking those coding classes at high school definitely helped her in the long run and always left her work partners satisfied.

His bandmates went out for dinner since they'd been working continuously. Nala first discovered them from seeing a clip of them playing at parks and knew that they would become famous one day based on their talents. The Relentless were nobodies too one day and were playing at sold out arenas left and right weekly. Ever since she discovered them playing out of a garage last year, she brought them from the ground and became the reason they're getting attention.

Why did you leave like that?- Johnny

"We hope you like Chinese food, cause that's the only place that opens 24/7," one of the band members teased when they returned from a long food run and Nala told them that Chinese food was fine.

As they ate, they talked about future shows they wanted to perform at, which bands they wanted to do songs with, and they got to know each other.

"I hope me texting you without saying my name didn't scare you. I didn't know if we should have called or texted you first," Simon explained to her how he got her number from a few obsessed Relentless fans and he looked her up after some rock bloggers confirmed it was her actual number.

"I forgot how interesting and scary the fans can be sometimes," she said as she ate some noodles and before it was one in the morning, she promised to finish their next project next week.

The website was up and running but they needed to print out different flyers or posters if they wanted to get the city's interest. They currently had a handful of fans but needed to get fans' attention if they wanted to be well-known in such a competitive city. They surely needed hundreds of thousands of fans in order to get invited to perform at big shows and Nala was the one who could achieve that goal.

Johnny called her house phone a couple of times and he was going to visit her on Monday since she wouldn't be working for a while.

He was worried about her because they were childhood best friends and he knew she was hiding something just by the way she left. She was a talkative person when they were children but she got more reserved when the band got popular over time.

What secrets is Nala hiding?
