Tommy hugged his little cow plushie a little tighter, blank stare directed at the ground, he wasn't paying attention, at least, he was trying, trying to get out of the world just to not hear a thing.

His bedroom door creaked open, he didn't look up, he didn't move, he didn't make any sign he heard, but the other knew he did.

Techno sat on the same corner as Tommy, putting the kid on his lap, the 6 year old buried his face on his brother's chest, the piglin just put his hands over the child's ears, doing as he always did.

Techno put his chin on top of Tommy's head, as he hummed a soft tune to the child, another attempt at covering the noise.

Wilbur and Phil kept screaming at eachother downstairs.

Techno came to him again, covering his ears as always.

He only saw the white shirt Techno was using, and he felt the older embrace him with his red cape, he liked the cape, it was fluffy and it kept some of the noise away.

His mind was racing, as well as his heartbeat, but his face kept blank, void of all emption, still he couldn't start to describe the panic he was feeling.

Techno knew this, they both were bad at expressing their feelings, yet they still felt things.

The older's hums made him calm down a little, yet he could still hear the glass of a bottle breaking downstairs.

It stopped happening for a while.

It stopped happening for years, actually, Tommy was now 16, and he almost didn't remember the fights.

Of course, he always gets a little overwhelmed when Phil and Wilbur discuss something, but they didn't fight like before.

And yet it happened.

"Sally's pregnant."

Tommy heard that, and despite his utter shock, he quickly went upstairs to his room, shutting the door with a loud 'bang'.

He pulled his hair when the screaming started, it couldn't be happening again, why couldn't they just be happy!?

He bit his lip, the sob didn't come out from his mouth, yet the tears fell down his eyes.

His door opened, and he heard a faint 'click' when it closed. His footsteps came his way, and he felt the embrace engulfing him. Techno was shaking.

He looked up, Techno was with his head buried on his shoulder, Tommy' head on the older's chest.

Their hands came up at the same time, and Tommy' felt the all too familiar touch of rough hands on his ears, blocking out most of the noise from outside.

Tommy reached out and pressed his hands at Techno's sides, his piglin ears were far more sensitive, so he didn't want to press that much.

They stayed like that, both humming to the same tune they sang years before.

There was a loud bang downstairs.
