Chapter Five: A New Goal

“So you know people who are like us. They have their own ways and hobbies, but their main focus is to create their dragon character?” Clementine asked.
“Yeah, and you do too, right?”
“Yes, I’ve explained it.”
We sat in silence, probably thinking over and over on what was going on. Is this really happening? What if it’s just our imagination? Is it like the books?
“Listen, I have a silly idea. Let’s get all these friends, somehow, someway. I’ll get some of the people I know on Monday at work, and our goal is to get everybody by next Friday. Deal?” Clementine finally broke the silence.
“Sure, it’ll be easy enough since a lot of these people I know are not really from school.  I only Leo and Czarbor from school. Rest of them, I just happen to know them from not being in my house a lot.” I explained.
“Great, and since I go the library everyday besides the weekend, I can gather my group by Friday in no time.” Clementine said her part.
“This is silly though. What if our prediction is false?” I worried.
“Then whatever, we’ll just look like the freakish weirdo orphans we are.” Clementine laughed.
“I’m not really a..” but before I can continue, Clementine interrupted saying,
“Look, you don’t really have a family you consider to be your family. Therefore, you’re basically an orphan. Not to kill your vibes, but I’m just stating the flat out truth.”
“Okay, I understand.” I sighed.

The rest of the day, Clementine showed me just about all the chores needed to be done to survive in her little cabin. She just seemed to be glad that there will be someone actually looking after the cabin while she works. Gosh, am I supposed to be the boy, or the housemaid? I honestly don’t know by now. At one point, I just sat down on the couch, and stuffed my earbuds into my ears, and turned on some Skrillex on my phone I managed to sneak out, which still works with the data I have left. Soon, I’ll have to switch over to Clementine’s cable or something. Great, first song is Dirty Vibe, a good beat with a twisted meaning.
“What are you listening to?” Clementine asked.
I just blankly looked at her for a bit. Why would a girl know what this song is? I replied,
“A Skrillex song that is oddly mostly in Korean, and has a mess up meaning.”
“Why the hell are you listening to Dirty Vibe?” she questioned.
“Hey, it was the first thing on shuffle, and come on, it does have a great dancing beat to it.” I shrugged.
Clementine just shook her head, and went back to whatever she was doing, drawing maybe. I just went back to listening to the messed up song, and mouthed the lyrics with the little of the Korean knowledge I had from being interested in Korea for a bit. South Korea I’ll just say, because the North I heard, is a crazy place. Clementine gave me a slight disgusted look, but started giggling when I mouthed out the CL rap part. Why am I rapping a girl’s rap? I honestly have no clue.
“Okay, really, can you stop? Please?” she begged as I was saying the fast part to the rap.
“Fine.” I whined. I hated this song, but I also thought it was a funny song.
“It is a funny song though.” she said as if she read my mind.

Lunch was ham sandwich with cake as dessert.
“One of my co-worker’s birthday was a few days ago, so I still had some cake left.” Clementine explained the cake.
To me, it seems from few days ago, when she found me poisoned by stings like an idiot couple days, we have changed our attitudes to each other. From arguing, to now having a bizarre plan for an adventure in something we’re both deeply interested in.
“Say, have you ever been to the library?” she asked, and I nodded. I loved the library.
“You said you worked there, how come I’ve never met you?” the thought just came into me.
“No clue, probably wasn’t at the same part of the library as you were when you were there.” Clementine thought.
“So, about the plan. Are we still actually going to be going along with it?” I asked.
“Of course we are, this is really bizarre. I’ve also heard from them that they’ve had similar dreams that we’ve had. They’re the dragon in it? Strange, huh?”
I nodded, trying to swallow down the last bit of the cake.
“Slow down before you choke to death. Never had cake before?” I shook my head, but said after swallowing,
“Only once, and it was the only birthday cake I’ve ever had. Even before my sister’s birth, I was treated like crap.”
“At least you’re away from that circus of a family.” Clementine sighed out.
“Good thing too, I swear, I was one day closer to a belt beating or something.” I placed the idea out.
“Would’ve been crappy as hell if that was the case.” she said.
“True that.” I agreed.
“How did you ended up escaping the rat hole?” Clementine asked.
“My family was too distracted with television or something, and they already expected that I was going to do my usual “out camping in the woods” dealio since I already screamed at them for calling my room a storage room. My younger brat sister had three freaking rooms.” I recalled.
“And your parents allowed that? I’m questioning them.” she raised an eyebrow.
“Wait, how did we get from a conversation about the library, to my crappy life?” I wondered.
“And what time is it?” she asked. Turns out, we’ve been eating and talking for at least an hour or so.
“Great, time flies when you’re having fun.” Clementine sighed.
“You’re having fun? What’s this about?” I joked.
She just gave me a death stare, a little red to her face, and I snickered slightly as she started giggling, realizing I was joking around.

That night, I started sketching out the base of a dragon, when Clementine sat next to me on the couch.
“What are you drawing?” she asked.
“A dragon, probably Darius.” I answered.
“Figured, I was drawing Morgana earlier,” she said. “Two wings? That’s a little too normal for a dragon, isn’t it?”
“Normal? He can control anything that contains water. You call that a normal dragon.” I protested.
“Cool, Morgana has night vision, and is her strongest when she’s by a light source. Odd thing, I feel like I have almost night vision too.” Clementine explained.
“That strange, I sometimes feel like I can move water. That just might be me being delusional. I am however and excellent swimmer though.” I thought outloud, and Clementine gave me a puzzled look.
“Yeah, that is strange.” she said with an unsure voice.
“What if the others with their dragon characters have the similar abilities as their dragons?” I wondered.
“Well, Alimah draws what she claims to be a magic dragon, and she is amazing at magic tricks, as if they’re actually magic rather than tricks.” Clementine informed.
“And Leo, he is almost one with nature, just like his nature dragon.” I said.
“Will our theory work?” she asked.
“We’ll just have to see. It’s getting late, and you wake up really freaking early. We should probably sleep.” I suggested.
“Good point,” Clementine started to her bed, “Good night.”
“‘Night.” I said back, lying down on the couch.
