*Ezio POV*

I pulled up to the front Independence Elementary, feeling a sense of Nostalgia. So many memories here, especially for the short time we stayed in Boston. The school hadn't changed a bit, it was still as I imagined it. Smiling to myself I got out of my car and began to walk towards the front gate as I saw kids playing on the playground as they waited for their parents. Lunch had gone amazingly well, Ember loved the restaurant we went to and I was pretty sure I made that a permanent lunch spot but time passed to quickly and she had to go. I enjoyed what I could and slightly cursed myself for not asking yet.

I smiled as I saw Elijah sitting on the front steps of the school before I noticed his sad expression, head in his hands, as he looked at the ground. Something was wrong and I didnt like that. Next to him was a small, pale, thin woman with short black hair with a clip board and a jar in her hands as she spoke to Elijah softly. Elijah didnt even seem to care at all about what she had been saying but as soon as he looked up at me he smiled and shot up, running towards me before he latched onto my legs causing the woman to look up at me and blush some, the other female teachers doing the same as I could feel their eyes on me. At one point I would have enjoyed their gazes but I knew these teachers didnt always make themselves out as good to be and I was already taken with someone.

"Ezio you're here!" Elijah said excitedly as I watched his mood lift. I chuckled and ruffled his hair as the woman approached me slowly.

"Of course I did, I told your mother I would" I started before the woman cleared her throat, causing me to lool up at her. She smiled softly.

"And who might you be?" She asked.

"Ezio Auditore, im Ember and Elijah's roommate" I started as I pulled out the note in my pocket from Ember giving permission for me to pick up Elijah. I was supposed to take it to the office but she unfortunately stopped me "I have a note from Ember to pick Elijah up"

"She and Elijah live in an apartment?" She asked almost judgingly. I glared at her a bit as she tool the paper from me and read it, eyes widening slightly. Did she seriously think I would forge this just to get a child? People these days couldn't trust anyone anymore. I narrowed my eyes at her as she said that "Elijah can go with you this time but if you have to pick him up again you need to be on the emergency contact list, Miss. Bjornstad should know this being a parent."

"Their is nothing wrong with living in an apartment, for the time being it's all she can afford and quite frankly it's a great place to live" I said, a warning edge to my words though it went unnoticed by Elijah but not by this woman who I assumed was his teacher. Since when did teachers try to get involved in the kids home life? Last I heard they couldn't unless they knew the kid was in a bad spot or they needed to worry but with Ember and her living situation their was no need to worry "And secondly, she got called into work earlier then she was supposed too and was a last minute decision instead of having her child sit here almost all night. If that is the case then i'll fill out whatever paperwork necessary to ensure this doesnt happen again"

"I'm afraid I can't just give you the paperwork, Miss. Bjornstad would have to be the one to get it and receive it. I'm sure you can understand why"

"Then give it to Elijah and she can do so when she gets home, it's quite simple really, I don't understand why you're making it harder for yourself or her" I answered. She flushed from embarrassment "Can I ask who you are?"

"Miss. Applewood, Elijah's teacher. I also want to talk with Miss. Bjornstad again about something important"

"And that would be?" I asked curiously as I arched an eyebrow. Miss. Applewood sighed before she gestured to Elijah.
