Chapter 19 Promotions

2 days later.....

Naruto started to open his eyes, he can't remember much other than defeating Gaara. Suddenly He heard a yell coming somewhere in his room, "oh my god his awake!". Naruto felt annoyed and once he got up from the bed and rubbed his eyes and he saw more clearly. Mito, Sasuke, and Sakura were in his room. "Took you a while dobe" Sasuke spoke putting his hands in his pockets. "oh yeah, what happened did we win" Naruto remembered. "we did but......" Mito couldn't answer the question. "huh why aren't you speaking," Naruto asked. "we did win, defeating Gaara dropped the moral of sand and the sound but we suffered casualties" Sasuke spoke. Naruto was sitting there with his eyes wide open. "who died?....." Naruto asked. "the Hokage died...." Sakura finally spoke the truth. Naruto didn't believe what he heard, "huh hahaha IMPOSSIBLE, HE WAS THE HOKAGE, THERES NO WAY A HOKAGE CAN LOSE TO SUCH RATS IN THIS WORLD!" Naruto yelled. Naruto jumped out of bed and grabbed Sakura's collar with his two hands, "you're lying!" Naruto yelled again. Suddenly Sasuke walked up to Naruto and Sakura and punched Naruto's face. "NARUTO! The Hokage's dead, he was killed and that is the truth...." Sasuke spoke. Naruto chuckled and then started crying on the floor.

"Tomorrow is his funeral meet us at the bridge and then we go together as a team" Sasuke spoke and left the room along with Sakura and Mito.

Next day

Naruto left the hospital he was dressed in black, what normal people would wear when an important person dies. He met his team and they all went to Hokage's funeral. It was a thunderstorm afternoon, everyone was all soaked by the rain. Naruto looked around him, he saw many faces hating him because they believed it was his fault for some reason, he then saw Konohamaru, the grandson of the third crying. Once the funeral was finished Naruto went to the hospital packed his stuff and went back to his apartment feeling depressed over the third Hokage's death.

"Jiji, why is there a war in this world," Naruto asked Hiruzen

"hmph if I have to say, it is because many other kages around the world have different ideas of world peace, If there was such it would be better if the kages would think as one. Hiruzen answered Naruto

"tsk such a childish thing" Naruto spoke while eating ramen.

Flashback ended

'if only the world know the thirds wish, then there's no point in war anymore.....' Naruto thought.

Next day

Naruto was talking to Kurama, "Kurama was it you who led me the power of my doujutsu to waken?" Naruto asked. "No, but when your fighting and I was sleeping, I did sense you dying so lend you some of my chakras but have nothing to do with that eye of yours" Kurama responded. 'is it him?' Naruto thought remembering his darker self. "suddenly Naruto got a knock on his door he grabbed a kunai off his table and hid it behind his back. he slowly opened a door and it was an Anbu, Naruto hid the kunai by putting it in his pocket. 'seems like he isn't here to kill me' Naruto thought. "your Uzumaki Naruto right?" The Anbu spoke. "yeah it's me," Naruto responded. "you see the adviser for third Hokage has summoned you, so please come with me immediately" Anbu finished.

"Alright let me change first" Naruto replied while closing the door. "oi brat I'm going to sleep again so don't disrupt unless it's an emergency case" Kurama spoke and went to sleep. "jeez how lazy can you be" Naruto spoke. 

Naruto arrived at the Hokage's office and he saw Shikaku sitting in the Hokage chair, "Greetings, I am Shikaku, the adviser for the third Hokage" Shikaku explained. "oh hi, why did you call me here" Naruto responded couldn't care less. "oh your here for your promotion" Shikaku spoke. suddenly Shikamaru entered the office too. "you're here too huh," Shikamaru asked Naruto. "Yeah" Naruto spoke. "Shikamaru you're here to it seems, Shikamaru, I now promote you to a chunin" Shikaku announced and tossed Shikamaru the chunin vest. "seriously this is going to be more troublesome" Shikamaru spoke.

'why don't you just reject the promotion?" Naruto thought. 

"You may leave now Shikamaru" Shikaku spoke

after Shikamaru left the office

"Uzumaki Naruto, you are not going to be promoted to be a Chunin" Shikaku spoke

"then why am I here?" Naruto spoke

"you're going to have an offer which is promoting you to an Anbu" Shikaku finished.

"If I join the Anbu what will happen?" Naruto questioned. 

"then you won't be part of your team anymore," Naruto thought

Naruto then had a sudden flashback

"Naruto, the sensei's always late probably because of you, he definitely hates you" Sakura spoke

new flashback

Kakashi: "I got to train Sasuke, bye"

new flashback

"hmph your such a loser" Sasuke spoke

Flashback end

"I accept the offer" Naruto spoke. 

"hmph alright, here meet your Anbu leader" Shikaku announced 

"Danzo...." Naruto was speechless.

"Hello Uzumaki Naruto, I am Danzo Shimura the leader of the entire Konoha Anbu headmaster and also one of the elders of the village" Danzo Spoke.

"Starting tomorrow you are going to be part of a team I set up for you" Danzo spoke

"yes lord Danzo" Naruto replied

Naruto soon left the room

at the streets 

Naruto was walking and saw Sasuke, Sakura, Mito, and even Kakashi. "yo" Naruto spoke. "hey Naruto where were you I was looking for you" Mito spoke. "Mito invited us to eat Ramen to celebrate that we finished our very 1st S rank Mission," Sasuke added. "oh I was summoned to the Hokage's office for the promotions." Naruto finished. The team was shocked. "WHAT SO YOUR A CHUNIN NOW!" Mito spoke. "no I'm not" Naruto replied. "Shikamaru was there too, he was the one being promoted to chunin." Naruto finished. 

"I think I know where this is going" Kakashi spoke.

"I'm now part of the Anbu" Naruto finally revealed.

"what! damn, why!" Sasuke spoke 

"who knows, well the thing is I'm not going to be part of the team anymore" Naruto added again.

"what, well I guess that's that when you get promoted" Mito stated

"hmph I'm leaving" Sasuke spoke and left

"hey where are you going!" Mito spoke.

"training!" Sasuke spoke angrily

"Sasuke Kun wait for me!" Sakura spoke and chased after Sasuke.

"here since most of them left, I'll leave to since I also have some stuff to report" Kakashi spoke and also left. 

"tsk typical reaction" Naruto spoke and left too.

'aww why does it have to be like this' Mito thought
