My dad stood up, and the cheering died down as he started talking.

"Welcome! To our new students welcome. To our old students welcome back. I would like to remind everyone that PDA will not be allowed in the hallways. People that are caught will be severely punished. I would also like to tell everyone that my daughter is off limits. No one will even touch her, or they will expelled before they can even say goodbye." I slowly shrank in my seat, so no one could see me while I blushed like crazy.

"Good night everyone." My dad added as we all stood up and walked out to the entrance hall.

"Hey! You! Yeah, you! The shorty with dumbass! How much did you pay your dad, so he would let you go to school with your boyfriend?" Anton called across the hall at Viktor and I.

"Excuse me?! What did you just say? I'm pretty sure all I heard was someone trying to tell me I'm short. I think I'm supposed to be offended, but the only thing offending me right now is how ugly your face is!" I shouted while I turned around and punched him in the face.

"That was amazing! Where did you learn to fight like that?" Viktor asked as we made our way back to the common room.

"I learned from the master himself, my father. He's been teaching me how fight since I was five. I think deep down he knows I'm not his kid and he wishes he had a son." I answered as we arrived at the portrait hole.

"That can't be true. Though you know he is not your real father. He is the only one who's  going to act like it. Where are you real parents now?" Viktor fumed as he turn to sit down in the chair by the fire.

"My parents are dead. Died years ago. Someone came in while we were getting ready for bed and killed them. They tried to kill my brother but it didn't work. He's still out there somewhere." I mumbled as for the second time that night my eyes started tearing up.
Viktor looked shocked but then recovered quickly. "Don't worry. I'm sure your brother is fine. Maybe one day you will meet him again." He hugged me tight and then let go.

"I'm going to bed. This has all been too much drama for one night. See you in the morning." I grumbled as I made my way to the staircase up to my dormitory. I sat down on my bed. Tears poured down my face as the memory of my parents death flashed in my head. The green light, the screams, my brother crying in the corner. I just wanted to meet him once, to see him all grown up with a family. I wanted him to know that he wasn't alone. I wish I knew who he was, and where he is. I got dressed in my pajamas, took off my bracelet placed it on my bedside table, and crawled into my bed. Like most nights at home, I cried myself to sleep.

Two weeks later
"Oi! Eve! Wake up! It's time for class" shouted Viktor, shaking me like a madman.

"Nooooo, it's too early. Wake me up in two hours." I grunted throwing a pillow over my head.

"Alright you leave me no choice." Viktor replied picking up the pitcher beside my bed.

"Go ahead. Give me your worst! I have no fear." I grumbled trying to doze off back to sleep.

"Okay... WAKE UP!!" He shouted throwing the pitcher of water all over my bed.

"VIKTOR YOU IDIOT!" I yelled sitting straight up trying to hide my legs that weren't really legs underneath the covers.

"What the heck? What are you? You're a freak, a monster!" Viktor said as he started back up towards the door.

"Wait! Viktor! No don't leave I can explain. It not what it looks like." I shouted reaching for Viktor with my hand, so he couldn't leave.

He backed away even further before he shouted "You're a freak! Don't bother being friends with
me!" He opened the door and ran down the steps.
