"WHAT?! Find them! Search every inch of the Tree of Life! Don't rest till they're found!" Rani ordered sharply.

"We've already told you we can't find him," Surak stated curtly. "We've searched the whole kingdom and there's no trace of any of them."

"Than search out of the kingdom!"

"Rani-"

"That's Queen Rani to you. And that was your queen's order. Send a search party to search outside of the kingdom." Rani turned to the white feathered owl hovering beside her uncle. "Ullu, inform the Pride Lands Kion is missing."

Ullu shivered under Rani's glare and dipped her head. "Yes, Your Majesty. I'll leave right away." The queen gave her a nod, and Ullu took off into the sky.

Surak reluctantly nodded and motioned with his tail for Nirmala and Baliyo to follow.

After they left, Rani flexed her claws in and out with fury. How dare Kion run away and take her cubs?! How dare he just... disappear?!

"Weeeeee!" Kabisa cheered. "Mommy, go faster!"

"You sure you'd be able to hang on?" Fuli chucked as she ran with the small cub clutching onto her back. During their time back in the Pride Lands, the cheetah had grown taller and faster, and her spots had completely darkened to black.

"I'm sure! I'm sure!" Kabisa mewed excitedly. The cub had grown a little and learned to fully speak. His fur was golden like Kion's and he had a very tiny black mane tuft on his head, just like Kion's when he was very little.

"Alright then!" Fuli picked up speed, dashing throughout the grasslands near Pride Rock. Kabisa cheered excitedly the entire ride.

"Wait for us!" A squeal sounded behind her. It was Huwezi riding on Kion's back as he struggled to keep up. Huwezi had grown a little too. Her light brown fur at birth started to darken a little and she had learned to talk too, just like Kabisa.

"Yeah, wait for us," Kion chuckled. He had grown taller and stronger too. His mane hadn't quite grown fully around his head yet, but little sprouts of it grew around the back of his ears and upper chest, along with growing further down his neck. Both lion and cheetah were nearly at the start of adulthood, though not quite just there yet.

"What's the point of waiting?" Fuli teased the lion, slowing down to let him catch up. Kion chuckled in response.

"So we can catch up?" Huwezi blinked, confused.

"Forgot they don't understand teasing yet," Fuli whispered.

Suddenly, a lioness dashed up to them. "King Simba and Queen Nala need you at Pride Rock, now!"

"What why?"

"Didn't say. They just need you there now!" The lioness dashed off.

Lion and cheetah looked at each other, expressions of worry and concern on both of their faces.

"What do you think's going on?" Kion asked as they jogged back to Pride Rock with the cubs on their back.

"I don't know, but I hope it isn't bad," Fuli replied.

"Kion, there is someone who wants to speak to you," Simba told them once they reached Pride Rock. He stepped aside, revealing a white feathered owl hovering next to him. Kion's eyes widened and Fuli grabbed the cubs off their backs by the scruff and nudged them behind the lion and cheetah.

Kion gasped. "Ullu? What are you doing here?"

"I've came to alert the Pride Lands of your disappearance, but it appears that you're here instead." Ullu glanced past him at the cubs. She narrowed her eyes. "And I see the cubs are here too."

Kion dropped into a protective stance in front of the cubs.

"Hm. I'll have to tell Rani about this and see what she thinks. I'll likely be back in a few weeks time." And Ullu flew off without another word.

Simba turned to Kion, his eyes clouded with worry. Kion could only exchanged a worried glance with Fuli. They tucked their cubs closer to them and nuzzled them, as if afraid they would be ripped away any moment.

Their problems had returned.

"You must hand the cubs over to her right away. They have a right to be with their mother too. If you don't, the Tree of Life will declare war on the Pride Lands to get their heirs back. That is the message I was entrusted to deliver, Your Majesty." Ullu dipped her head respectfully.

"Your message was delivered, Ullu. Now you may return to the Tree of Life," Simba told her curtly.

Ullu dipped her head curtly before taking off into the sky once more.

Kion tucked the cubs closer to him. Fuli's pelt bristled. "What do we do?"

"This is a very serious threat," Simba told them, his eyes cloudy with indecision. "We can't go back to a war, not after so long the Pride Lands was under threat from the Outlands."

Kion's eyes widened and he growled in fury. "She won't take our cubs!" He stood protectively over Kabisa and Huwezi.

"I'm afraid she already has." Simba sighed. "I'm sorry. It isn't worth risking the entire Pride Lands."

"No!"

AUTHOR'S NOTE: Ok so this is my basic starting idea. There's so much this story has to tell that can't be told in little one-shots, so should I make this a full book?

Please tell me your thoughts on the idea of making it into a full book! Thanks!
