Obscurity

Who the fuck are you?! Oh wait, pretty girl.. awoogah.

      So it's really dark outside, it smells like smoke, and the sight of the... remains... on the ground are enough to make even a republican southern man gag. Yet, there's a small girl just skipping through, her dress bouncing up with her in every hop. Sani's light giggles filled the otherwise silent air due to her, quite literally, care free attitude. She stopped when she felt her boot hit something. She looked down and saw a man, clearly dead, with his tongue lolled out of his mouth. "Sorry sir! It was an accident so there's no need to make faces!" She huffed and crossed her arms, and when his face didn't change, she stuck her tongue back out at him. "So rude.. for no reason." She grumbled to herself. 

She then, completely forgot about what just happened before exploring again. "Oh wow, a mall! I hope they'll still sell me some food." Sani exclaimed to herself before running into the large abandoned building. Once she was in she found a stand with some oddly well preserved pretzels. "Hmm, no ones here. I don't wanna steal, but... I don't wanna wait. Let's just take one and leave the money." She spoken to herself like a madman before reaching in her sock and pulling out about 5 large leaves and putting them on the counter.

Everything was going fine until she heard growling from a store. "Cmon! Please don't be another mean one! You creeps tried to bite me!" But no, it was much worse- at least in her opinion. Slowly, a large, mangy dog crept out from the shadows of an empty store. It resembled a Saint Bernard but she couldn't be sure. Her mood immediately shifted. Her eyes went wide, and her breathing became quick. It started to run at her and she let out a rather loud scream before turning to run away. The dogs large paws were heard bounding after her, it was slowly catching up. She was panting as she ran, stumbling every few moments. Eventually, her shins were all scraped up and she was struggling to keep going. Her calves were burning, she'd overworked them since they didn't have much muscle in the first place. The small girls frail legs gave out a few feet before the exit of the mall.

The dog had caught up not even 5 seconds later. She was lying on her back, hyperventilating as the dog hovered over her, snarling and snapping every time she lifted her head in the slightest. Tears from the anxiety were steadily flowing down her cheeks. She grabbed her chest tightly, unable to catch her breath. Then, she squeezed her eyes shut before fainting. The dog was standing over her with a heavy paw on her chest. It barked three times, even louder than her screams. After the alert, a figure could be seen walking out from a dark abandoned hot topic, how quirky.

Sani quickly sat up from a makeshift bed of old tattered hoodie. She looked around confused before putting her head in her hands. "Oh no, no, no, no, no," she muttered quietly before looking up and screaming, "No!" She looked and sounded crazy, which she probably was, as she mumbled anxiously to herself. "I-I thought I was getting better. I thought I stopped imagining things. How much was real? Where am I? How far did I really go? What day is it?" She asked questions to herself over and over.

The same figure from earlier decided to intervene. The tall girl walked out towards Sani, striding confidently in her combat boots, her short red hair bouncing in unison with her steps. She stopped and towered over Sani. "Who the fuck are you?!" She asked menacingly and held out an open pocket knife at her. 

Sani looked up at her and tilted her head slightly, "Oh wow, that's a pretty girl, awoogah.." She said with a star struck look in her eyes, absolutely no fear. She giggled and stood up, only coming up to the ginger's shoulder. "I've never seen you in these! You seem cool." 

The new girl was shocked and glared at her again. "Shut up with you ramblings. Don't you know how dumb you sound? You already look like a child, but that doesn't mean you need to act like one." She snarled out aggressively. Her dog overheard the angered tone, so it crept out slowly growling. 

Sani froze as she saw the massive dog, causing her breathe to hitch. "H-he's back! He's back!" She shrieked and quickly backed up trying to get away. "Behind you! Look!" She yelled beginning to panic again. She had a slight fear of dogs :)

The new girl smirked. Now, she had leverage. She said a command that was in a different language, maybe German? The dog immediately sat down while Sani stayed backed up into the corner, her head was down and she was peeking up through her home cut bangs. The red head frowned slightly and decided one monumental decision. Allies are better than enemies. She reached out her hand to push the smaller's hair out of her face. "Hey, hey.. it's alright. Calm down. Look, my names penny. Alright?" She said trying to speak in a calming tone.

Sani nodded hesitantly and looked up at her with a tiny smile. "Hi, I'm Sani. Soh- neee~" She sounded out for the other. Her smile quickly widened as she spoke, showing off her cosmetically sharp canine teeth. 

Penny could still tell something was off so she awkwardly put her hand on sani's shoulder. "Are you okay? Don't worry. Bernie won't hurt you." Sani was looking down again and playing with her fingers, "Uhm, can you please ask Mr. Bernie not to move too fast because he'll scare me." She asked softly, almost like a child. Penny was shocked by the mood shift so she slightly nodded. "Oh, uh- sure. I'll be sure to let him know." 

Sani tilted her head slightly before smiling so hard her eyes became crescents. "Thank you, ma'am." Penny stumbled back a bit and gripped her chest dramatically. "Damn, I didn't know I seemed that old! I'm just 19." Sani nodded excitedly. "Oh wow, I'm 18. Yknow, you kinda remind me of my old friend. She was 19 too." Penny listened while sitting next to Sani. "What happened to your friend?" Sani thought hard for a moment, hesitating before she spoke. "Well, I know that I either killed him, or he tried to bite me." Penny looked confused, more than she was before. "What? Why should you kill your close friend?" Sani giggled slightly before replying way too happily. "Ah, I was bored!"
