After Wano the straw hat crew stops at a nearby island. They had to stalk up before venturing further.
Zoro had stepped off the ship to check out the scenery and on his way back ran into someone calling for him.
"Zoro!~" A song song voice called out. He turned around to find a woman.
A few of the crew members watched as the female hugged him. "I didn't expect him to have a lover." Nami snickers.
-With Zoro-
"What the hell are you doing here Sinthia?!" Zoro asks whisper yelling, pushing her back gently.
"He wants to see you, he also wanted me to relay a message."
"What does he want now??" He asked seemingly angry, fists clenched.
"Well, he wants you to come back with me for else he'll do bad things to the people you care about." She gestured to his cremates.
He closed his eyes and sighed heavily. "Alright fine. Give me a bit."
"Take your time, not sure if you'll ever see them again." She spoke quietly lowering her attention to the ground.
Zoro turned to the ship and started walking over feeling overwhelmed.
Once on the ship Nami and Usopp approach him smirking. "So Zoro, who's your little friend?" Nami asks with an evil grin on.
"A friend." He responds rather coldly and bluntly.
"Just a friend?" Usopp eggs him on.
"Yes."
'Weird. He's never this cold or is he just embarrassed?' Nami thinks to herself.
Zoro walked away from them and to where Luffy was sitting. "Luffy."
"Hmm? Oh Zoro!" Luffy exclaims happily.
"There's something I have to say....I uh need to leave the crew for a while." He states with his head down not wanting to look his captain in the face.
Luffy's smile instantly disappears thinking of the time with Sanji. "No. You're not leaving." He crossed his arms firmly stating that he wasn't allowed to go anywhere.
"Luffy I'm not asking, I'm telling you. Sorry." He straightens up and quickly strides towards the men's quarters before he could hear his captain out.
He looked like he was going to throw up, he was more pale then normal.
Zoro starts packing up quickly before Luffy or anyone for that matter can stop him. Just then someone enters the room and footsteps can be heard approaching him.
"So you're leaving?" A voice calls out, Zoro looks up in a hurry.
"Oh, it's just you cook." Zoro sighs and looks back down to the stuff he was packing.
"Who the hell else would it be. 'Sigh' why're you leaving? It's not like you to just-" Sanji was cut off by Zoro.
"Cook! Listen don't talk, just listen. I need you to do something for me. Promise me that you won't come looking for me if I don't come back." Zoro said still packing with his gaze still to his bag.
"What the hell kind of request is that??" Sanji asks walking closer looking pissed off already.
"I'm not going to say it again. Promise me cook." Zoro zips up his bag and turns to look Sanji dead in the eyes.
"Yeah whatever I promise." Sanji gives in. Zoro walked passed him and out the door. What stood before him was the whole crew blocking his path.
"You're not leaving." Nami firmly states with her arms crossed.
"Yeah Zoro, you can't leave!" Luffy shouts pointing at him, he looked angry.
"I have to, family emergency. I'm sorry." That was the last thing he said before he walked passed everyone to the ladder.
They seemed shocked, he had never mentioned family before or anything of that sort for a matter of fact.
They tried stopping him, but they could see he wasn't going to chance his mind. They let go and he started descending.
As he walked away from the ship they all ran towards the front of the boat to watch him go off. They watched as he walked away from them with that strange girl.
He looked back to see all their faces. Some were angry and the rest were sad.
"It's for the best. I'm so sorry Zoro..." Sinthia said reaching out to touch his shoulder for comfort, but she stopped herself retracting her hand back. She put her hand down.
As the 2 walked out of sight, everyone but Luffy left. He stayed in that spot for a few hours after dark. Sanji came out to take him back inside to warm up.
Zoro's POV -
'What the hell could that man- no, that creep want with me. How did he find me?? Wait....my poster. Goddamnit!!' I internally yelled at myself for wanting anything.
I noticed that Sinthia looked uneasy. "Hey." She seemed startled by my sudden act to talk.
"Why're you still with that?" I asked not looking at her.
She got very sad in her tone. "I can't afford to leave Zoro, he'll find me easily.....It must've been nice." She spoke with her voice cracking, I looked to her.
"Hmm?" I wondered.
"To, you know, explore the world and have friends who....care." She said the last part rather quiet, but I heard.
"Yeah, it was nice while it lasted." That was pretty much the last thing we said to each other whilst walking over to the other side of the island, to his ship.
As we approached I slowed my pace, Sinthia locked arms with me and looked over clearly trying her best to smile. "It'll be okay Zoro. We have each other." She looked as if she could burst into tears at any moment.
I took a breath in and walked onto the ship, Sinthia let go of my arm before getting onto the ship. Maybe she didn't want to be seen that close to me.
I looked around and my hands began to tremble. I felt my heart drop into the pit of my stomach when I heard a familiar voice calling out my name.
"Zoro, oh thank goodness. You're alive!" He hugged me, but was crucially bitter to the core.
"Yeah..." I said in a shaky voice.
"Welcome back, my grandson." He gestured to me, everyone on the ship started clapping and cheering. All I could do was stand there in shock watching as about a hundred people stared at me with plastered smiles on.
I was terrified....
