One Piece //Zoro's Family//

Chapter 2: Talk

-With the Straw Hat Crew-

Narrator's POV -

"I can't believe him! Why would he just leave like that?!" Luffy shouted pacing about the ship's deck.

"Well didn't he mention that it was a 'family emergency'." Usopp said resting against the side railing with his arms crossed.

"Yeah but still, no excuse!" Luffy shouted once more not wanting to give in.

They all sighed heavily. Knowing him he'd tried everything in his power to get one of his nekama's back.

'Promise me that you won't come looking for me if I don't come back'. Zoro's words played back over and over in Sanji's mind.

He was too lost in thought to notice Nami calling him. "Sanji!"

Sanji's POV -

"Hmm? Oh Nami-swan. What is it?" I ask sweetly giving her my full attention.

"God took ya long enough to come back to earth. Anyway, has Zoro ever talked about his family to you or to any of the guys before?" She asked standing next to me resting her arms on the side railing.

"No. Sometimes in conversation when you and Robin-chan aren't around we do get to talking about past experiences or stuff like that. *scratches head*

Oh! There was this one time when Franky was talking about his parents and Luffy interrupted-"

"Sanji-kun what's this have to do with Zoro?" Nami asked clearly confused.

"You uh didn't let me finish." She looked a little pissed.

"Anyway, Luffy asked Zoro if had any family or parents or someone like that." I spoke, the urge to smoke was strong but I didn't want to do it around her.

"What did he say? Zoro I mean." She asked looking more intrigued.

"He completely avoided the question and started talking about something else like swords, I don't remember...." I stated looking away for a second or two.

"Weird. Hmm......I don't think he's embarrassed, about his family I mean. No, it sounds more like it might be more of a fear more then anything." Nami stated looking out into the ocean.

"What do you mean by that Nami-swan?" I ask not really knowing what she was implying.

"Well you could notice it in his behavior, he acted all skidish before he left and not wanting to talk about family either. It's either that or he doesn't have any and that was just an excuse to ran away with his 'girlfriend'." She air quoted.

"You make a good point about the fear thing, I highly doubt it's the second one. He's too um what's the word.....loyal! He would much rather stay here then leave." I said looking over to her.

"Yeah far point. Heh, he's always so protective of all of us." She said looking down with a smile.

"He's like the ships mom or something." I said jokingly.

She laughed. "Agreed."

"Well, don't stay out too long Sanji-kun we leave early in the morning and I don't want you to sleep in too long." She smiled devilishly and walked away.

I pulled out a cigarette and lite it. 'Geez Marimo you really are troublesome.' I thought staring off into the deep blue sea.

'Where are you, why'd you leave?' 

At dinner you could tell obviously tell  that the atmosphere was off, the Marimo was gone. I guess you could say that he was our support.

He was always there when we needed, not the best person to talk to if you had an internal problem, but a physical problem with someone. He could definitely help with that.

'Come back already you idiot...'

"Sanji?" A voice called out.

"Hmm?" I hummed as I looked up to see who was calling for me.

"More meat!" Luffy exclaimed with an angry face.

You know when you lose someone close to you a friend or family member and you drown you sorrows in alcohol. Well Luffy seems to do that, but except drinking alcohol he over eats.

"Luffy don't you think you've-"

"No!"

"Alright, give me your plate." I ask, he hands me the plate and stares intently at the table.

I get him some more meat and place it in front of him, he digs in. I give a small smile, but it quickly fades.

"Luffy, don't forget to chew." Jimbe said.

I snickered out of habit.

"Wamf su fummy?? (What's so funny)" Luffy said with a mouth full of meat.

Everyone seemed to lighten up a little, well they were at least smiling.

After dinner I started to tackle the pile of dishes.

"You need any help Sanji-kun?" Robin walked over with a smile.

"You don't have to, I've got this. You can go wash up and head to bed." I said with a smile, hands still on the sink.

"Well if you're sure. Good night Sanji." Robin said as she leaves the kitchen/dinning room.

'This kinda reminds me of something, but what........that damn Marimo. *sigh* Even though we fought a lot he'd still help out here and there with the dishes.'  I thought as I drained the sink, grabbing the towel I hand over to the wet pile of dishes.

I grab a plate and just as I'm about to start drying it I hear the kitchen door open.

"Heh, didn't know-" Luffy started.

"Luffy out! You've had enough today." I shot throwing a wet dish rag at him, he shuts the door in time before it hits him.

"Dammit..." I sigh heavily and walk over to pick up the rag.

Walking back to the dishes I stop and think. 'Too much still to do.'

After I finish up drying and putting away the dishes I lock the fridge and head to the men's quarters.

Changing into something more comfortable I stretch before getting into my bed.

Laying in my bed I get to wondering about that damned moss head.

'Get out of my head! Agh!!!! What's wrong with me?...' I must've dozed off at this point.
