"We're moving you to Ohio to live by yourself. You will have money sent to you every month until you are 18. I'm sorry, but we just can't deal with having you here. You are just too...." My grandmother stopped herself before she said suicidal. I know what she meant. I nodded. I wasn't going to argue with them. "Cas.... Your plane leaves in an hour. The house is already set up. It is fully furnished and has everything you will need. You will be going to Garfield High School and you have to call us at least once a week to let us know that you're okay. And yes, we skipped you a couple grades up." I sighed and nodded. "You also have enough money to go on a shopping spree for all new clothes. School starts next week." I sighed again. I had a feeling that high school is going to suck. I went and gathered a few of my things, then put them in a couple suitcases. Next thing I knew I was in a plane. I don't remember how long the ride was, but we landed in Akron, Ohio and as soon as we did I was escorted off the plane first and driven to a house.
Looking around at the other houses, I saw a boy about two years older than me right next door to the house that I was going to be living at. I wonder if he lives there. Honestly, he's kinda cute. Maybe I should say hi. Before I could think about it anymore he walked over to me and smiled. "Hai there. Are you the person that's supposed to be living here?" I got wide eyed and looked at him from deep inside my hood. "Uh... Uhm... Yeah..." He appeared to smirk. "I'm Shawn." I nodded. I debated on telling him what I wanted to be called or what my actual name is. "I'm Arcadia. My family calls me Cas..." He smiled. "Well, Arcadia. I live right there if you ever need anything. Even if it's someone to talk to." I nodded. He handed me a slip of paper with a phone number on it. "I'm not sure, but you might be able to come over for dinner tonight. Just text me and I'll let you know." I smiled. "Thanks. I'll see you later, I guess." He giggled and nodded. He looked at the ground and mumbled something. "Hm?" "Uhm... I was just wondering if I could hang out over here for a while... I don't wanna go home yet..." I tilted my head. "As long as you promise to tell me everything about why you don't wanna go home." He nodded.
I smiled and grabbed my suitcase and walked inside, Shawn following close behind. I realized that the house had three bedrooms, one was turned into a gaming room and two were just bedrooms. I walked to the master bedroom and set my suitcase in the corner. I sat on the bed and Shawn sat down next to me. "So... Tell me everything." He looked down. "My family is constantly arguing and fighting. They're always telling me how I never do anything. They also emotionally and mentally abuse me. They've also basically left me to fend for myself for years..." He looked over at me with tears streaming down his face. I took my hood off, made him look at me and wiped his tears. And then I did something i never expected me to do. I kissed him, quite passionately. When I finally pulled away, I looked down. "Sorry..." "Sorry for what?" "Kissing you... We don't even know each other...." He made me look at him. "Don't apologize for making me forget everything that has been bothering me..." I nodded. He kissed me deeply and smiled. I looked at him. "So what does this mean?" He giggled. "Whatever you want it to mean, I guess." "Shawn?" "Yes?" "Does this mean that my first day in a new town and I already have a boyfriend?" He giggled again. "If you want me to be." I smiled. "Let's get to know more about each other, though." "Mkay."
We sat there telling each other everything about one another. Next thing we knew, it was past 10:00. Shawn's parents hadn't called him, so he called and asked if he could stay. His mom basically said "I don't fucking care." and hung up the phone. I giggled. "You can sleep in the guest room. I'll sleep here." He nodded and began to walk out of the room. "Good night, Arcadia. I love you." I smiled. "Good night, Shawn. I love you too." He walked to the room and I laid there in the dark, unable to sleep. Shawn came into the room. "Can't sleep, huh?" "Nope. You?" "Nope." "I know its kinda weird to ask, but can I sleep in here with you?" "Sure." He giggled and pounced on the bed. He cuddled with me and we both fell into a deep sleep, dreaming of our soon to be lives.
