Chapter three

Jackie's P.O.V

As I walked home from finding Alice in the woods all I could think about is why she seemed so jumpy and was she holding her breath? And also why was her hand so cold?

Not remembering I was late really late I strolled right up and inside the back door of my house only to bump right into my dad.

"WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN YOUNG LADY!!!" He screamed at me

"U...um I was just out for a walk s...sorry I'm late I lost track of time" I stuttered

"Hhhmmm I'll let you off this time but next time I won't be so forgiving now go to bed!" He sighed

I ran up the stairs and straight into my room hoping that he doesn't change his mind especially because I just got out of the hospital.

While I'm selecting the pyjamas I plan to wear to bed I hear the front door open and close and I know it's mum.

Before I could leave my room to say hello I hear a lot of yelling and crashing from downstairs. 'Oh no not again run jack just run' a voice in my head tells me but of course I didn't listen

I head downstairs knowing what I'm going to see and what is going to happen if I'm caught out of my room by the wrong person!!

Before I could get to the bottom of the stairs my step-mum comes into view, I freeze and look over the familiar sight of her face red from yelling her hands balled up into fists.

I run before I can see my dad I run up the stairs into my room and under my covers not bothering with the pyjamas I had gotten out.

****dreaming***

I'm walking down a seemingly endless empty corridor with my school bag on my back. I walk for what seems like hours then I see him.....

His eyes burning with rage his facial features twisted into anger hands in fists dead straight at his sides.

He starts walking towards me I turn and run and run and run right into a dead end with no way to go I turn to see his face still twisted with anger.

He close now so close I can't get away I can't run he walks right up to me then stops and looks me up and down his eyes turn from rage to lust, I try to run but he grabs me and pins me against the wall behind me.

I scream he leans closer his face now only millimetres from my face I turn away.....

***dream ends***

I wake up screaming again this time it's only Bosco that comes to my side panting away like he just ran a marathon to get here.

"It's ok Bosco I'm alright" I pat his head as he climbs onto my bed and lays down next to me.

I look at my clock '9:30'

"Oh crap I'm late for school!!! Bosco why didn't you wake me?" I laugh and get up to get ready for school.

I head downstairs as quite as I possibly can, with Bosco at my heels with his nails clicking on the hard wood floors.

I grab a quick breakfast and rush out the door saying goodbye to Bosco on my way out.

As I walk through the doors to school I find the hall unusually crowded for this time of the morning.

Then I see her...Alice standing there talking to someone I don't recognize with blond short hair and golden eyes like hers.

"Hey Alice what's going on?" I ask once I reach her.

"Hey Jack don't you remember we have an excursion tody." She replied with her angelic voice.

"Oh crap I forgot!! Well at least I got the form signed early!!" I laugh at myself

"Yeah lucky, Jack I want to introduce you to Jasper, Jasper this is Jack" she said indicating the person she was talking to earlier.

"Hi" Jasper said reaching out his hand.

"Hey" I replied shaking his hand.

"Alright class lets head out to the busses and hand me your forms on the way out please!" Mr Khan yelled over all the noise.

Everyone started piling out the door handing in forms as they went.

"Ahh miss Griffen you're late." Mr Khan said as I got to him.

"Yeah I'm sorry Mr Khan I slept through my alarm it won't happen again I promise." I replied genuinely apologetic

"Of course it won't miss Griffen or its detention." He replied sternly

I left the room after handing my form in and got on the first buss and found my seat in the front, I hoped Alice would join me but she got on the other buss so I sat alone the whole bus ride.

The excursion was pretty uneventful and boring it was some museum I can't remember much about it I wasn't paying any attention.

And again I sat alone on the bus ride back to school, but lucky for me the excursion was day long and as soon as I got off the bus I headed home
