Balrcco POV- orc
Off hunting the Balrcco, an ogre had been hunting. His squad was a bit closer to a human village but food was sparse. He chased after a small herd of deer pointing his bow at the largest deer. Swwhhiip. He shot the leg of the deer and the rest of the herd scattered. He felt like roaring in victory but he remembered the human village. Not far off he heard rustling not too far by. The brush around him was rather thick and he tensed shifting to a pounce position. Balrcco crept towards the direction of the noise silently shifting the brush with a finger. Surprisingly it seemed to be a human and a defenseless one at that. His eyes were drawn to a dagger fastened by a strip of cloth to it's waist. He watched amused as the human scarfed down blackberries cutting gashes into his arms. The smell of human blood began to emanate.
He returned to his deer keeping his ears keened to the position of the human. After bundling all the meat he needed he wrapped it in a knapsack. It was dark but it didn't greatly hinder his path. Curious about whether the human had left or not he peeked back through the brush not hearing or seeing it. Shrugging his shoulders thinking of how weak that thing he turned back in the direction of their camp, opposite of the human villagers. To his surprise when passing a cluster of tightly knit trees he saw the human walking watching the ground acting listless, not unlike a baby deer. Balrcco waited for the human to look up and freak out but it never looked up. He watched it carefully and noticed its slow pace and posture keeping a hand on his sabre. Standing unmoving watching the stupid creature it walked right into him. Balrcco blinked in shock as the human bounced off his chest barely feeling the impact. The human still did not look up or take note of its surroundings and stiffly clung itself to a tree to get back up. He couldn't help recalling the other humans he's fought against. They were smaller than orcs but they still had some meat on them. They could do some heavy damage with swords, of course nowhere near the level of an orc but enchanted equipment made up for the difference. He followed the human as it walked closer to the direction of his camp before it sat down and curled into a fetal position.
Balrcco shook his head in contempt and sympathy at the human's idiocracy. Sleeping defenseless...well with only a dagger as defense in a forest populated with orcs, gobins, and who else knows what, maybe even a naga, was pitiful. Shifting his hardwon dinner over a shoulder he walked to his camp keeping an eye on his dark surroundings. The deafening sound of crickets hid much sound but underneath it the rustling in the eaves from nocturnal birds could be heard, an occasional goblin cackle, to roaring campfire could be heard. Following the smell of smoke he entered the hearty ring of fellows some of them cheered when they saw the amount of meat he carried stroking the campfire. Balrcco had been employed into the army that was currently fighting against humans for territory in the far east. Their tribe had been in an alliance with a couple beastmen groups who had assisted them in hard times. Currently he was in a sort of reconnaissance squad of around 30 men, an offshoot of the two thousand warriors marching towards the east.
Sitting down at the campfire while all gorging on fresh kill his comrades shared their experience of the surrounding area. Balrcco listened quietly, tearing meat off the bone, "Yeah, there is a goblin nest about forty kilometers from here. A big group of 'em too,'' commented a compatriot wiping grease off his face. Another looked up from his meat, "That's rather surprising with a human village so close by. I checked the village out, it's pretty barren. There'll be nothing to raid when the army comes through, it looks like the human soldiers already did a good enough job of that!" Many orcs shook their heads disgusted. "There's at least a well there if the army needs it. The river is far away close to the goblin nest. The leader of the squadron gnawing on a leg of pig questioned," Is that goblin nest going to be an issue for the passing army." The warriors looked among themselves and reached agreement that with food so scarce around here the Goblins might be a problem. They were infamous for their stealing ability despite there being so many men in the army it'd be harder to protect the supplies. The squadron leader after inquiring with a couple advisors he reached the decision to attack the goblin nest in a week.
