(Sorry not edited)
That morning I had decided I would walk home from school, even though it was a 7 mile walk to my house. It gave me a lot of time to clear my head, the principal wouldn't tell my mom about what had happened at school I was sure of that but what would happen if she did somehow did out. It doesn't matter I told myself in a few weeks I would turn 18 and I could leave when ever I wanted and no one could stop me. But if I did that then my mom would turn on Josh my youngest brother and I couldn't let that happen, Tucker had tried to save me but it didn't matter Mom went after me anyway. I could always so what my oldest brother Levi did and confront her but when he did that he drown mysteriously in the pool. No one in my family swims any more except for my mom she doesn't even seem to realize that her son had drown in a pool. It sicken my family to its very core. It's no secret that my mom is messed up but I can't understand why my father won't leave her, when he's home he protects us and when he's not its my job to do that. I don't even know where he goes when he's at work I tried to call the emergency number he left me with when I was younger but Johnny my dads best friend picked up and didn't know why I was calling and said he and my father didn't even work together. After that dad told me to only call if there was a real emergency, I've never called the number again.
I walk the rest of the way home humming elastic heart by Sia. When I enter the house my brother sits in his usual spot bouncing up and down in his seat at the table.
"Hey baby brother." I tell him he runs up to me and hugs me.
"She's home early," he whispers. I push hime behind me and call out is anyone home. The only response I get in the crashing of a lamp in the hall way. It's a good thing that I ordered extra of them. I start preparing a nice home cooked meal when my mother walks down from her room with a swing to er hips and looks me over in distaste.
"We're having company tonight, cook enough for 5 men and 6 adults as well as everyone else." she commands. I nod my head and grab my keys from the rack and head to the store. I buy 16 steaks, I know it seems like a lot but it's not I really should get a few more. so I grab 3 extra steaks and push my dry heavy cart to the register.
"Will this be all" ask a very confused looking cashier.
"My family is having a large dinner party tonight and yes this is it.". I reply thankfully I already had the rest of the things I needed at home.
"And your total is..." he begins until I cut him off.
"Just put it on the card," I say grimacing, luckily my Father makes a lot of money and he gave me one of his credit cards for occasions like this so I don't have to pay out of pocket. I grab my bags and head to my car, on the way there I trip and am about to fall when a rough hand grabs my waist and pulls me up before I give the ground an unwelcome hug.
"Need a hand," a gruff familiar voice says I can practically hear the cocky ness in his voice.
"Thanks," I say brushing my self off and turning around to face the devil himself, Axel.
"What are you doing with all that meat," he says raising an eyebrow.
"My family is having a dinner party tonight and I'm getting the supplies." I respond not mentioning how I was going to be the one making it.
"What a coincidence I happen to going to a dinner party as well. Your father is Quinn? Alp... I... never mind." he stammers.
"No go on what is my father and why when ever you start to say something do you always stop and pretend like it didn't happen!" I say my blood boils everyone in this damn town is the same they won't tell me anything about my family. suddenly I'm falling and right before my head hits the ground I black out.
When I come back to the world I'm lying in my bed Axel stares at me intently. the smell of mouth watering steak fills my nose. I move slightly and Axel jumps up calling for my father to come up. I open one eye and peak out my baby brother sits in the corner rocking back and forth my father barges through the door and Axel appears more tense than ever.
"What happened," I mutter weakly the pounding in the back of my head increases with each word.
"Shhhh baby girl," my father coos "you're okay, take it easy." I push myself into a sitting position as he talks to me.
"You fainted, in the parking lot do you remember." he asks and I nod. He sighs in relief him and Axel relax and little bit. "Tomorrow we will take you to the pac.. I mean doctors office." says Father.
"Nice save," chuckles Axel who's face falls immediately when I ask him to repeat what he said, "you heard that?" He says looking at me eyes wide.
"Quinn outside now." he growls.
"No one tells me what to do in my own house," states my dad with a murderous stare.
"May I please speak to you outside in a more private location please." Axel says through gritted teeth.
"What ever you are going to talk about you can say it in fort of me." I say
"No" they both say at the same time. They then leave the room and I can barely make out what they are saying. It's something about a pack and mates, then they talk about something burning down. I hear on of them growl that's right growl and feet shuffle. thankfully my brother calls out, "dinner will be ready soon"
