20- Another Day In Paradise

Zero's POV:
"Easy" Diego says cockily jumping back into the passenger seat of the car, he winks at me in the backseat as he hands off the file to Five in the driver's seat....Five glares at him as Diego looks me up and down... clearly checking me out again.... Diego isn't one to give up is he? Five notices him still checking me out and hits him with the file in the head... "Eyes off Diego!" He growls and Diego rolls his eyes at him sending me another wink as he turns towards Five....I laugh at him... man I'm so sleepy.... I stretch trying to wake up when I feel a stabbing pain in stomach.... Never mind... I snuggle my knees to my head... and I see Diego is still watching me in awe....

he is stubborn isn't he?!? Five sends me a look.... jealous Five is hot.... he opens the file and starts looking through it.... his eyes furrow and he hands it to Diego starting the car to drive back to the Academy.... I close my eyes.... maybe I can get some sleep on the drive back....."Who the hell is Leonard Peabody?" Diego asks slamming the file on the dashboard of the car.... I flinch jumping up out of my cuddled up position and hiss in pain at my sudden movement... Five looks back at me worriedly through the car mirror....

Diego looks back at me running his hands through his hair... "Uh sorry... I didn't mean to make you flinch." He is nervous as he continues to watch me... I sigh cuddling back up, "It's not your fault... it's mine....I'm just a bit used and abused..." His expression turns soft... I've never seen Diego look so soft... he turns back around taking a glance at Five... Five sighs back at me still driving, "Zero it's not your fault you've been through so much...." he gently tries to reassure me but I feel the tears start... I nuzzle my head in my knees... "Everyone in my life has told me different.." I whisper out and I hear Diego sigh, "Come on I'm sure that's not true." I snap my head up hot tears running down my face... he immediately looks regretful...

I whisper out at him as I notice Five grab the steering wheel tighter...."Yeah your right... tortured, raped, bought, sold, trained to kill, used, abused, experimented on, killed, brought back to life, and more by my own father and so many others I can't even count.... but hey all the scars on my body in my head and tattoos are all in my head right?" I hide my face again as I hear Diego turn back around... "Zero I'm sorry I didn't know..." he apologizes... he feels bad... I kinda snapped at him... how was she supposed to know? "No I'm sorry... you didn't know... you just hit a soft spot of mine...." he turns back around and I give him a soft smile... he smiles back gently, feeling relieved.... I return my face to my knees.... I feel pain... physical and mental.... I sigh as I fall asleep... a short nap should help...

Five's POV:
I was going to intervene but I could feel that she wanted to on her own... it's good for Diego to see her as she is... she's strong on her own... she knows I'm here for her if she needs it... she's been through so much, and no one realizes how strong she really is..... except for me of course..... I hear her soft snores... good I'm glad she's getting some rest...and Diego turns to me... I glance at him and he starts talking, "Dude I'm sorry I had no clue she's been through so much..." I sigh looking back at Zero through the car mirror, "Ya, she's a fighter.... there's a reason why she's my sunshine.... a little sunshine cause a need it.... with her it's just another day in paradise..."Diego just nods as I turn my attention back to the road......

I am not one to usually open up, and I can feel that he is a bit shocked as he processes what I said....when we arrive at the Academy I park and Diego & I look back at her.... she's so adorable in her sleep... "Man how can she be so sexy and cute at the same time?" Diego asks me and I quickly shove him aside, "Really Diego?!?! Can you stop hitting on my girl?!?" LIKE damn how many times do I have to tell him?!? He chuckles and licks his lips, "What can I say? I'm a fighter too..." before I can hit him he jumps out of the car running up the the Academy...

I sigh as I teleport picking up Zero bridal style...she's still asleep, but she unconsciously grabs onto my jacket snuggling her face into my chest for warmth.... she's so quiet... so peaceful.... I wish life could be this perfect for you baby... someday.... we will make our own paradise....I walk with her inside carefully and notice Diego has gathered Allison, Luther and Klaus already... I place Zero on the living room sofa and Klaus scoots over... I watch as he carefully lifts her head onto his lap.... he looks at her with such compassion and care.... wow they really are besties...... he cares for her...

I hand Allison the file and cross my arms waiting for her to read it... when she opens it her eyes go wide... she's scared... "Wait do you know what that is?" I ask quickly and she nods handing the file to Luther... "That's Vanya's boyfriend!" She exclaims... I slap my forehead hard... great just what we needed... our sister is dating the mark for the apocalypse.... Luther digs deeper into the file "Whoah this guys got some history and criminal record..." Not as much as I have.... I shake my head at him, "Yeah and we have to find him." Allison steps up feeling noble, "We have to save Vanya!" Luther steps beside her putting his hand on her shoulder, "I agree"... I notice Luther looks strange... he looks drained... I look to Klaus as he snorts at Luther... I tilt my head questioning and Klaus smiles at me explains quickly, "Big ape man had a big night..." "Klaus..." Luther threatens walking towards him... Klaus just laughs and winks at him... odd but irrelevant...

Klaus's laughter wakes up Zero... her eyes flutter open as she sits up looking around her... "So what did I miss?" She asks and I cut Allison off, "Nothing that you don't already know." I say grabbing a random cup of coffee off the table... she smirks at me "Alright then what's the plan?" I float the coffee to her and she sips it looking up at me, her eyes an electric purple.... She looks less pale now... thank god.... "We have to find Vanya & her boyfriend." Luther says standing up tall... ok number one jezzzz we get it already... I wink at Zero copying Luther's stance "And kill the son of a bitch" she starts laughing Hysterically at my joke...Klaus and Diego do too...

Allison nudges me looking at me ashamed I just roll my eyes at her... Zero stands up teleporting over to me "Y'all don't know when to take a joke... the killing part however is happening.." her eyes glimmer at the end of her sentence sending chills down my spine... I love seeing Zero in action... the memories we share when we are murdering.... Diego interrupts my thoughts... "Hey there's an address... let's go." He says shaking the file in the air, I nod and grab onto Zero's waist, she hisses a bit and I look at her but she just shrugs it off... must be from me crushing her earlier in that fall... I still feel bad about that.... at least her body could heal a bit with a small nap... she kisses my cheek probably hearing my thoughts... I lean my chin on the top of her head breathing in her lotus scent....then we all head to the car..... Leonard Peabody your ass is as good as dead.
