Ashton's pov (lets hope this goes well)
I was not looking forward to this dance. I had asked one of the girls I recently slept with to be my date, she happily said yes. She was a bit too cheery for my taste.
I was on my way to pick her up. I arrived and climbed out of my car with a sigh. Why do these stupid dances even exist?
I walked to her front door and rang the doorbell. A few seconds later the door opened, revealing a man, who I presume is her father. To be honest, I didn't even remember this girls name. But what can I say, I've slept around with a lot of girls that I just forget all their names. That sounds so horrible but I have my reasons.
"Good evening, sir. I'm here to pick your daughter up." I said with an innocent smile.
Her father just narrowed his eyes at me, probably not buying my act. He finally nodded and stepped aside to let me in.
"She'll be down in a minute, just finishing up."
I heard someone walking down the stairs and me and her father turned to the stairs. Whats her name came walking down the stairs wearing a red dress, that was way too tight.
A small smile formed on her fathers face, looking at his daughter in awe.
She smiled flirtatiously at me. "Hey."
"Hey. So we should probably get going, we don't want to be late for the dance."
She nodded in agreement. She gave her dad a kiss on the cheek and turned to me, linking her arm in mine.
"Have a great night, sweetie. And take care of her." He said to me with a serious look on his face.
"I will, sir."
"Okay, now get going."
We walked to my car. I didn't bother opening the door for her, she can get in herself. I started up the car and we drove to the dance. On the way there, we were both silent the whole time. I still couldn't remember her name.
We finally arrived and we both got out. There were already quite a few people here. A car pulled up beside us and you could hear laughter coming from the car. I looked to the side and saw Jade and her friends getting out of the car. I saw her with this kid I didn't know. I narrowed my eyes at him and Jade saw me. She frowned and just linked her arm with the guys and they walked on into the school. I was staring at her when Jessica (oh yeah that was her name) snapped her fingers in front of my face.
"Hey stop staring and let's get this party started."
I nodded and started walking up to the school, with Jessica right next to me.
We walked into the gym, how original to have the school dance in the gym.
I scanned the crowd looking for my two best friends Luke and Jason. I found them standing at the table with foods and drinks, talking to each other.
I walked over there with Jessica.
"Hey guys."
"Sup Ashton? You ready for this dance?" Luke asked me.
I scoffed, of course not. This was a bunch of bullshit.
"Seriously dude? And by the way, where is your mask?"
"Right here." I said, pulling my mask from my jacket.
Jason snickered. "You look like batman wearing a tux."
I just rolled my eyes at him and punched him.
"Damn, no need to get violent." He said while rubbing his upper arm.
I started looking around and spotted Jade dancing with that dude. I was watching them and Jade turned around, looking at me. She frowned again. She turned back around and said something to her two best friends, making them look at me. They were also frowning.
"I'll be right back."
I walked away before they could say anything and walked up to Jade.
"Hey dude, can I cut in?"
Jade was giving me an incredulous look. Her date nodded. He left and I went and stood in front of her.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?"
"I'm dancing with you" I said with a duh tone.
She narrowed her eyes at me. "Why can't you just leave me alone? First you get all worried about me and now you're ushering my date away because you want to dance with me. What the hell do you want?"
"Have you ever thought I just want to be friends?"
She started laughing, but it wasn't the happy kind of laugh.
"Ever thought of me not wanting to be your friend?"
"Oh come on, everyone wants to be my friend."
"Yeah, take your giant ego and yourself somewhere else, I can't stand being around you."
"Oh please, you can't get enough of me."
Before I knew it, I felt a sharp stinging pain going through my cheek. I was shocked.
"Listen up "buddy"" she spat at me. "I will never be your friend. One, you're a cocky son of a bitch that can't take no for an answer. Two, you're popular and I hate popular people. Three, you're probably only just trying to be my friend because your mom told you to be nice to me after the time I stormed out of your house. But you don't know how to be nice, you only know how to be a stuck up, cocky quarterback because that's the only thing you're good at. Now just leave me alone because you are starting to get on my nerves."
After her little rant, she stormed off, her friends going after her. Not before Louis gave me a dirty look.
Luke and Jason came up to me. "What the hell was that all about?"
"It's probably just her time of the month."
I felt everybody staring at me. "What are you looking at?"
They all started getting back to what they were doing.
Damn, I try being a nice guy but get slapped. That's just great.
