Even before he opened his eyes, Langa was blinded by the sunlight. Slowly, he started moving his left hand around to figure out where he was. Soft and cold fabric, he's laying on a bed. His arm felt very heavy, and for some reason, he wasn't able to move the right one. He kept exploring around him until he touched a finger, which surprised him enough to gasp and open his eyes.

That's when the headache hit him. A very sharp pain, he felt like his head could crack open as easily as an egg and closed his eyes again. The sunlight turned into flashing stars. He was dizzy. His only working hand hit his forehead as he let a quiet groan come out of his clenched teeth. He leaned forward, but a weight on his legs kept him from moving his knees.

" Hey ..! Woah, careful ! "

Another hand was now on top of Langa's and one was behind his head, both applying pressure. He couldn't move anymore. The pain felt a little less bad.

" Mrs. Nanako ! "

Langa heard this voice before, but he couldn't tell who it belonged to. This person was already helping him feel better. It must be someone close to him. Maybe the pain was messing with his head ?

" Dad ? " he asked.

" Langa ! Thank God ! "

A second person. This time, he could clearly recognize his mom's voice. Who else is around him ? Why are they all there to greet him as he wakes up ? Why are they all panicked ?

" You should lay down, you're gonna feel better. Your mom's looking for someone. "

Both hands around his head softly pushed him back until his whole body was laying down, again. Then, they left his head and the headache hit him again. He put his hand on top of his eyes to make everything darker. It felt like his eyes could pop out any time.

" You scared the crap out of everyone, man. We thought you were dead ! I'm so sorry I let you- "

" Ah, Langa, you're awake ! Poor thing, look at your face, you seem in pain. I'll be right back. Can you close the curtains before I come back ? And make sure to keep the garbage can close, he might be sick. "

Someone started playing with Langa's hair as the room suddenly got darker. He recognized his mom's soft touch. Words were said, but the pain was slowly becoming unbearable and Langa couldn't understand what people were saying. The dizziness was taking over and his whole body felt like it was in a plane taking off. The stars he could see started dancing. He quickly leaned forward again to puke. Somehow, his legs were still dry afterwards. He couldn't feel anything on them even after being sick. He felt a little less dizzy and calmer than a few moments before.

It's only when he put his head on his pillow again that he realized his bed was tilted.  Even with his eyes closed, he understood he was in an hospital bed. And that's the moment Langa fell back asleep. He was exhausted.
