The feelings

The second time Langa woke up, he felt like a bus hit him. His whole body was numb. His head was heavy. The dizziness was still there, but it was bearable. This time, the room was dark. Even with his body not responding normally, he was able to think more clearly than the first time he woke up. Opening his eyes didn't make him feel  sick.

The hospital room didn't have anything unusual, he had seen a few of them back in Canada, when he was still snowboarding. In the corner was his mother, sleeping in an armchair. The only unusual thing was the redhead sleeping with his head on Langa's lap. He had seen this hair before, but where ?

He slightly moved his heavy head to look around. The sleepy boy didn't need more to wake up. It felt like the sun just woke up.

" That was one hell of a nap " Reki said in a very deep and slow voice.

" A nap ? "

" You've been in this bed for 3 days, bro. You seem way better than last morning. You looked like a ghost ! Like, more than usual " Reki giggled. " Because, you know, your face is very- "

" Langa ! "

This time, Langa's mom was awake and rushed to the other side of the bed.  He could hear in her voice that she was trying her best not to cry.

" Langa, I love you so much, you scared everyone ! " She said.

Reki gently fist bumped Langa's chest. His smile did not leave his lips one second.

" I'll go get the nurse " Nanako said before leaving quickly. She was getting very emotional.

" You may have lost the beef, but now everyone's angry at Adam, it's like you started a revolution ! No one went to S since the accident. Cherry, Joe and Miya came to visit when you were asleep, too. But I'm the only one who stayed here the whole time ! With your mom, of course ... " Reki blabbed.

" The beef ? Who's - "

" Langa, sweetheart, I'm happy to see your pink cheeks ! You look a little better " the nurse said in the softest voice as she walked in followed by Nanako.

She was a young lady. The first time Reki stopped looking at Langa was to look at her.

" Is it okay if I spend a little time with you to make sure you're doing alright ? " the nurse asked Langa.

" Yes. "

The nurse took out a pen and a pad.

" How do you feel ? Are you in pain ? "

" My body feels numb. I can't move my right arm. "

Reki wheezed. He tried hard not to laugh.

" What is your full name ? "

" Langa Hasegawa. "

" Awesome ! Do you know what month is it ? "

" June. "

" Great ! I will look at your eyes, a little, okay ? You have beautiful blue eyes, I don't see that color very often. "

She took out a tiny light and held both of Langa's eyes open one by one to look at them. She took more notes on her pad. She did a few more tests as Reki and Nanako were watching.

" It's almost breakfast time, so just wait and relax a little, eat what you can and then rest a bit more. You seem like you're getting better much faster than what we expected. You had a severe concussion, broke two ribs and one arm. It may take a little while before you'll be able to live the life you used to, but if you are patient it'll come back. "
