Because of the little "prank" on Lori, the other acolytes were punished. They had to clean the temple where some of the gore would be with only floor scrubs. Thankfully Jake wasn't caught nude outside Benson's house and Benson was saved by the Knights. Brandon and Gabrielle had to take responsibility for the murder spells, and the day finally came for Jack's first magic practice with Lori.

Allen and the Knights decided that they wanted to watch, so Lori decided to practice at their backyard. She looked around with a frown as her eyes glew yellow in the moonlight. "What are you doing?" Jack asked as he stood in front of Lori.

"Scanning," Lori said. "Checking if my theory is right." She looked at Jack and tilted her head, then blinked. "I was right, you have it."

"I have what?" Jack questioned, frowning.

"You have magic living in you, my kind of magic," Lori replied, smiling. "However, you simply don't have anything that gives it passage to this dimension." She smiled as her eyes glew blue this time. Then glowing blue tattoos appeared on her face. "I call the spirit of Silverback, lend Jack Morton your power. Give him a taste of your energy."

Jack tilted his head in confusion, then he bent back as he growled in pain. His veins began to become more visible as it glew blue under his skin on his face, neck, and hands in uneven brightness. "Jack!" Randall exclaimed as he ran towards Jack who had fallen on the ground.

"Don't touch him!" Lori commanded, staring at Jack. "Let it flow, Jack. If you fight it, it will break you." Jack stopped his shouts and screams and resorted to grunts as his eyes glew icy blue and tattoos formed on his face and neck. The veins stopped glowing, and the tattoo stayed on his face and he stopped squirming. Lori's tattoos stopped glowing and disappeared. She blinked and the glow disappeared in her eyes. She looked at Jack who was panting in relief on the ground.

"Now what?" Jack asked. Randall looked at Lori.

"Can I help him up now?" Randall asked.

Lori looked at Randall. "Yeah," she replied before looking at Jack. "Get up and do some stretches. Think about how you feel all over your body."

Jack was helped up by Randall, and Jack began to look at his hands and move them a little. "They feel weird, like I have cold water running through my body," Jack stated.

Lori nodded. "Good," she said. "If you imagine different colors in your mind, visualize that coldness in your body as one color." Jack frowned for a moment. "Now separate that color from the other things you feel in your body." Jack's eyes flashed white for a second, and he blinked and it was gone.

"That looked awesome," Lilith said, smiling slightly.

"It didn't feel awesome," Jack groaned as he tilted his head.

"When I was born, I did something weird," Lori stated, looking at Allen. "It worried both my parents and my sister." Lori walked towards Jack. "It caused me to sleep for three days."

Randall walked back to Hamish to watch from that distance. "Why would you sleep for three days?" Lilith asked.

"It was a consequence of a baby's abnormal actions that went against the instinct of a baby," Lori replied. "I was meditating for a long time in my mother's womb, and so when I was born, I was asleep for three days. They thought I was dead, but when I awoke, my eyes were apparently blue instead of brown."

"You were meditating and fell asleep?" Jack asked.

Lori shook her head. "It was the state I was in," she said. "I didn't know what I was doing in my mother's womb, but I apparently unlocked something in my brain. Since you cannot do that, you must borrow from Silverback's power until you can fully merge."

"Wait, merge?" Hamish questioned, looking at Lori in confusion.

"Yes," Lori said, looking at Hamish.

"What will merging do to us?" Lilith questioned.

"The hides will forever be part of you and your abilities will be passed down because of your bloodline," Lori replied. "You will have more control of yourself but you will be similar to us now. Your senses will sharpen, and it will hurt. Healing will be faster and more natural, and it won't be because of magic. Magic will have less of an effect."

"We all might need this," Hamish said, looking at the others.

Lori frowned. "You need a caller to talk to the wolf inside you," she said. "But that caller cannot speak to more than one in the whole process. You'll need another witch or have Jack finish it all then I can do it with another, one by one."

Allen looked at Lori. "I've never heard of this before," he said.

"It's never been tried before, but the voices in my head seem to favor them," Lori replied as her eyes glew again. "However, that's it for tonight. Don't use this kind of magic. We'll start again next week. You're unused to this magic, so if you don't do as I advise, you will get hurt." She glared at Jack. "You don't know how to use it yet, so for now, do what they taught you." I looked at Hamish. "Make sure he doesn't get in a situation where he has to use it yet. Otherwise, it might kill both Silverback and Jack."

Jack looked worried when she said that. "Oh, you should have said that first," he stated.
