Lori was again summoned at the temple and Vera requested to meet her in the office. Then she entered the main room that was often used to make enchantments and Lori stopped as she saw Jack holding Alyssa's hands.

"I like you!" Jack said, looking Alyssa in the eyes. Alyssa looked speechless and slightly awkward. Then Jack inhaled through his teeth. "Annnnnd this is a mistake." He turned to leave and stopped when he saw Lori standing there emotionlessly. "Lori, i-it's not what it looks like!"

Lori raised her brows. "You don't have to explain anything," she said. "I got work to do, see you in the bar." Then she walked past the duo.

Jack sighed, then he ran out of the temple while Lori entered the office. Vera was holding a piece of parchment paper with a seal on it. "Took you long enough," Vera said.

"Forgive me, Magus," Lori replied. "I had trouble on the way here."

"Oh?" Vera asked, raising her brows. "What is it this time?"

"The other Acolytes are curious of what it's like to have you as a tutor," Lori replied.

Vera hummed. "Have you finished the books that I gave you?" She asked. Lori nodded. "Good, I want you to understand the concept of spells and how they are made. For the rest of the evening, I'm giving you access to the ritual room. You can do whatever you want to, I want you to create a new cleaning spell and use it on the mess from the last ritual."

Lori nodded. "Yes, Magus," she replied.

"Also, the Grand Magus is coming to see your magic," Vera said. "He will be observing your progress tonight." Lori was then dumbfounded at the information. "You're dismissed." Vera moved her hand and the doors to the office opened. Lori nodded and left.

Jack sighed, sitting at a table in Blades and Chalice. Randall sat down in front of him, putting down two beer bottles. "What is it now?" Randall asked, giving Jack a look.

Jack sighed. "I just messed up," he said. "To hide my werewolf status when Alyssa was using magic, I told Alyssa that I liked her, stopping her from using magic. Lori saw the whole thing and now she thinks I actually like Alyssa and I just ruined my chance with Lori." Jack groaned and let his head fall on the table.

Randall's eyes raised. "Wow, that's.....bad," he said. "Don't worry, you'll get the chance to make up for that." He placed a bottle of beer in front of Jack. "As long as you don't hit on Alyssa again."

Jack nodded. "Did you know she was born with magic?" He looked at Randall. "It looks like she can somehow use magic without having to pay for it. I don't know why." Randall raised his brows with surprise.

"Maybe someone gave that power to her," Randall said. He frowned.

It was evening and Lori had just arrived at the temple. She was carrying a couple of books that she had memorized, and she entered the ritual room. There was a big mess of blood and guts on the table, and from the smell, Lori could tell it was goat.

"Well you're early."

Lori turned to see Vera and Edward Coventry walking towards her, one with a kind smile and the other with a look of expectancy. "Yes, Magus, Grand Magus," Lori greeted the two.

"Nonsense," Edward chuckled. "Please, call me Edward."

Lori shook her head. "I'm afraid we don't have that relationship yet, Grand Magus," she said. She smiled kindly at Edward.

"Yes, but Vera told me of your situation," Edward explained.

Lori shook her head. "My situation may be different, but I am no different from any of the Acolytes," she replied. "I don't expect to be treated differently, I thought the Order was about keeping order in magic and it's users." Lori's smile fell and she tilted her head with curiosity. "Am I wrong?"

Edward paused, then he smiled. "I see," he said. "You speak like a Magus. I expect great things from you."

Lori nodded, smiling slightly. "Thank you, Grand Magus," she said. "I am honored."

"I think it's time to start the project," Vera pointed out, rolling her eyes at the scene. "This Hall is still a mess."

Lori nodded. "What kind of spell do you want me to make?" she asked. "Something quick? Fixing?"

"Surprise us," Edward replied.

Lori looked at Edward, and she nodded. She turned to the table and looked at the mess. "Don't you need some items, Miss Smith?" Vera asked.

"Depends on what you have during the situation," Lori replied.

She blinked, and her eyes glowed. Then she looked around the room, visualizing what the room looked before, then thought of an addition. She looked at the two Magus and blinked. The two saw a glimpse of wings behind Lori as the mess disappeared only when they blinked, and it was immediately gone.

The two looked around and noticed blue roses decorating the corners of the ritual room. It was beautiful, like a garden. "Miss Smith, what did you add?" Vera asked, looking around.

"Decorations," Lori said. "You said that there was going to be a party thrown for the Grand Magus tomorrow. What do you think?" She looked around. "Is it not of your liking?"

"Miss Smith, you've just spared the other Acolytes the duty of cleaning and decorating," Vera stated, her eyes looking at the blue roses. "Are they live?"

"Yes, Magus," Lori said. "Would you like if I added gold?" She moved her hand, and gold roses bloomed near the flowers. "Or would you rather the greens be gold?" Then the gold roses disappeared and the vines and leaves turned to gold.

"I think green is enough, Miss Smith," Vera replied. "We like nature's creations." Lori nodded, and the leaves and vines turned back to green.

"Ember Alora Smith, may I call you Ember?" Edward asked, looking at Lori.

"I use Alora and go by Lori," Lori replied. "If you don't mind."

Edward chuckled. "Please, tell me, what did you do to clean and decorate the room?" he asked.

Lori smiled, looking around. "I could have easily cleaned this room by making the mess disappear or teleport from this room," she replied. "However, that would put the blood to waste. Then I realized, since your spells require sacrifices, why not use an alternative? Sacrifice blood instead of a living creature." Lori turned to Vera. "I exchanged the dead body for the whole room to be cleaned spotless and maybe make this room look more brand-new with polished walls and floor, then the blood for live roses representing us. I just thought of what I wanted this room to look like along with what this room looked like before from my memories, then I focused on what was added in that image, and I activated the blood."

"Something only you have ever done somehow," Vera stated. She looked at Lori. "Consider me impressed, Miss Smith. Come back here tomorrow evening, I have a proposition for you."
