Save Her Life

20 4 2

This is a song about a relationship that recently ended (not mine) and a girl was so heartbroken she committed suicide and her partner can't deal with the guilt because he/she feels it was his/her fault. During their time together, the girl did drop hints of her depression but he/she didn't catch on and one thing led to another; they broke up and this is where they ended up.

;-;

[Hook]
Sitting by the window pane
Watching as the puddles form from the rain
Missing her laughter is like reading the next chapter
Reminiscing won't bring her back today
Finding guilt is like opening up the front cover
Won't replenish the hole in your heart

[Verse 1]
Forever is a misleading promise
Together is a commitment of sacrifice
Marriage is a unfortunate internship
You failed to see her anxiety and stress
You left and said it was for the best

Oh wha-oh-oh-oh

[Chorus]
You are adopted
You're insane
You're unconventionally to blame
You can scream and cry
But you can't save her life
Sorry babe
She was alone and afraid
From the decisions you made
The knife in her hands did the deciding
She will be on the other side waiting
You can place her on clean white sheets
But you can't save her life

[Verse 2]
Her voice, pleads down the hallway, come this way
Her silhouette in the doorway stands firm and calmly
Her fingers drag across the wall
She failed to say she was sinking
She looked at the heavens, eyes closed, and braced for the fall

Oh no-oh-oh-oh

[Chorus]
You are adopted
You're insane
You're unconventionally to blame
You can scream and cry
But you can't save her life
Sorry babe
She was alone and afraid
Injections and drugs were heavily weighed
The knife in her hands did the deciding
She will be on the other side waiting
You can place her on clean white
But you can't save her life

[Verse 3]
The separation was uneventful
The forgiveness drowned in the sorrows
She wept for days
You should've been there for her
It's for the best is what you say

[Chant]
Her spirit haunts you
The days left alone are a virtue from her
She sends her regards
But she will be back for you

[Chant/Hook]
Her spirit haunts you (sitting by a window pane)
The days left alone are a virtue from her (puddles form from the rain)
She sends her regards (won't bring her back today)
But she will be back for you (replenish the hole in your heart)

Her spirit haunts you (sitting by a window pane)
The days left alone are a virtue (watching puddles form from the rain)
Her laughter and witty banter (sending her regards)
Reminiscing won't bring her back (guilt and built up anger)
She will be back for you (replenish the hole in your heart)

[Chorus/ edited]
She was alone and afraid
The choices you made
The knife in her hands sealed her fate
She'll be on the other side waiting for you
You connect the IVs and stitch her up
But you can't save her life

[Hook]
Sitting by the window pane
Watching as the puddles form from the rain
