Skylor barely managed to hold in a savage snarl as she scrubbed the side of her caravan with the other teens. They had offered to help her clean it up and make it more liveable while they all talked about the upcoming parents' evening. Most of them were dreading it, as was Skylor, but it was for a different reason. She didn't have any parents to take and she was certain her father wouldn't suddenly turn up out of the blue with a change of heart.
She asked the others what to do, but they were little help.
All they said was that on the very rare occasion of a school function happening on the night of full moon their parents would just call the teachers and say they couldn't make it, always having a cover story at the ready. This was different from those times, however. She knew the adults in their pack hated her with a passion and wouldn't lift a finger to help her out of this mess.
"Of course I am looking forward to parents' evening! Who isn't?" Pixel suddenly asked, causing Skylor to jump out of her thoughts, and everyone but Jay, Nya, and Zane raised their hands.
"It's all right for you brainiacs." Cole huffed in annoyance. "All we get is could do better."
"Must try harder," Kai added.
"Make sure your parents are there," Skylor muttered with a scowl, but they all heard it.
"Oh, yeah, no parents at parents' evening might be a problem." Jay winced and they started brainstorming for a solution.
"I would just say they've got flu." Lloyd shrugged.
"Or could do what Harumi did?" Morro said and they all nodded. When the letters for parents' evening were sent out, the Jade family called the school about a sudden emergency business meeting in the next city over, so they couldn't attend. No one really believed that, but they didn't want any trouble so they all kept quiet. As the teens continued cleaning, all the werewolves suddenly froze and sniffed the air. Pixel paused and watched in confusion as they all stiffened up and started looking around for the source of the scent.
As their yellow eyes darted around, they were all shocked as Garmadon suddenly stepped out of the shadowy trees.
Zane quickly put himself between his girlfriend and Lloyd's wild father, protecting her just in case Garmadon tried to attack the only human there. Kai, Jay, Cole, and Nya all bared their razor-sharp teeth and started growling defensively. Lloyd, Morro, and Skylor were frozen in shock at the wild werewolf's sudden appearance on their territory.
"Dad!?" Lloyd finally cried out, breaking the spell over them.
"How are you, my boy?" Garmadon smiled at his son as he approached and all of sudden pulled the blond teen into a hug. The teens looked ready to tear Garmadon to shreds, scared he would attack Lloyd, but one look from his son stopped them.
"I-I'm good." He stuttered, still in shock. "What are you doing here?" He asked as he escaped his father's embrace, only for his eyes to widen in fear. "Is Chen-"
"Wait." Garmadon interrupted him before running up to Skylor and kneeling at her feet with his head down. When he looked up at her again his eyes were a bright yellow. "Your father has been exiled." He said and Skylor gasped in horror. "You are the new alpha, leader of the pack." He added and Skylor stumbled back in a daze, but Morro and Lloyd were by her side in a second to support her. The others all hung back since they knew very little about the wild pack and how it functioned.
"Is my father hurt?" She asked, knowing that Chen wouldn't give up his pack without a fight.
"Nothing wounded but his pride." Garmadon sneered.
"What happened?" Morro asked and the older wolf hesitated for a second, angering the red-haired woman.
"Tell me!"
