That night, the school was filled with teachers, parents, and students as they gathered for parents' evening. The hallways were filled to the brim with people as they moved from one classroom to another as they spoke to their children's teachers. Everyone was dressed up like they were going to church, the teens mostly did it because they were making one last attempt to impress the teachers. Judging by the looks on their faces as they left the classrooms, it didn't work.

Lloyd and his friends laughed and joked as they walked down the halls, looking for their parents and Garmadon.

Skylor nervously picked at the edges of the smart uniform Pixal had lent her for the event nervously, never feeling more scared in her life. She wore a bubble skirt in amber that covered the entirety of her legs. The skirt was paired with thigh-high socks and wedge shoes colored in burgundy and amber respectively. She was also wearing a short-sleeved shirt, which was tucked into her skirt and covered with a wide orange jacket. She had a tie that divided the middle of a buttoned-up jacket and was dotted in the same colors.

"Nervous?" Pixal asked her, sensing the nervous energy radiating off the red-haired girl.

"A little." She admitted with a chuckle.

"What will be, will be." Zane smiled and as they walked down the hall, Skylor suddenly grabbed Lloyd and Morro's arms and pulled them back. The others gave them a look, but said nothing and walked further ahead so the trio could talk alone.

"I want you both to promise me something." She said in a quiet voice.

"What?" Lloyd asked

"That you'll follow your heart; it's my pack now, not my father's or Garmadon's." She replied and they both nodded. Eventually, the teens found their parents and were surprised when they saw Garmadon smiling and shaking hands with passing parents as they shared greetings. They knew Garmadon had grown up in Ninjago City like them, but it was still strange for them to see him acting so... human. They noticed how the rest of their parents were keeping their distance from Lloyd's father.

Garmadon didn't seem to mind, and as soon as he saw Skylor he immediately tried to bow to her, but she quickly stopped him.

"Don't do that, you're supposed to be my dad." She whispered and everyone was feeling extremely awkward at the situation.

"Jay sweetie!" Edna suddenly called from down the hall.

"Morro, come on!" His foster parents also exclaimed, and the lone wolf groaned.

"I've got to go." Jay smiled and rushed off.

"Me too." Morro sighed and slowly followed his foster parents into the crowd.

"Are those their human parents?" Garmadon asked as he watched them walk away.

"Jay's adopted parents and Morro's foster parents," Kai replied.

"That's a human that loves and supports someone else's cub because it's the right thing to do, a bit like Skylor," Lloyd added, staring his estranged father dead in the eyes. "She might be your leader now, but you're the grown-up, doing what's best for her." He told his father in no uncertain terms and everyone was silent as the blond teen's word sunk in. Misako felt pride bubble inside her at her son having the courage to subtly tell his father off.

Feeling the tension filling the group, Skylor quickly cleared her throat.

"Just stick with me, Dad, you'll be fine." She smiled nervously and started leading Garmadon down the hall and they disappeared around the corner...

"Despite my best efforts, Mrs. Dobson these behavioral issues are still a problem, I'm afraid." Ms. Koko said in disappointment and Mrs. Dobson sighed in frustration while Morro shifted nervously in his seat. Morro wanted to find a hole and die as Ms. Koko talked to his foster mother about how things were going in school and about his grades.
