"King's Orders."
----
Sneaking out wasn't something you usually did. You never snuck out. Even when you tried, you were caught immediately by Dream, your older brothers, or one of the guards. The feeling of getting past Dream alone was thrilling and made your heart race with excitement. You had easily slipped out of your room, making sure not to wake Dream or Tommy. Not waking Tommy was a task in itself; the young boy's arms had been wrapped tight around your waist with his face buried in your neck. But, not once did he wake up from a nightmare.
The castle was freezing, and you were glad you had put on one of the warmest outfits you owned, one that all of your family had. A blue coat with fur on the inside and around the wrists, yours and your mother's had a built-in corset while your brothers and father had a red wrapping around the waist. You wore brown leather boots that stopped below the knees and over the white slacks and one of the blue capes Techno gifted you when you turned eighteen. The interior was red while the exterior was light blue, with a mixture of grey wolf and rabbit fur around the collar and sun-shaped golden buttons holding it together, the empire's emblem plastered on the back in white. Your hands were covered in white leather gloves with the family ring over it—a ring with the empire's crest made with emeralds in the middle, and a rose gold band.
You freeze in place upon hearing two pairs of footsteps, eyes widening at how close they sound. There was no way you'd have enough time to hide, and you were sure whoever it was already heard your boots clicking on the quartz floor. The footsteps turn the corner, and you're met with Technoblade and Tubbo, or well, Technoblade pulling Tubbo by his ear. You looked at them, frozen in place with wide eyes, and Techno glared at you, piercing crimson hues practically boring into your soul.
"What are you doing up, ducky?" He questioned, voice cold and sharp, deep with sleep—almost as if Tubbo had unpeacefully waked him from his slumber. Tubbo looked at you with wide eyes and pursed lips, and he must've been caught sneaking out too. That wasn't a first. It happened constantly; Tubbo always felt the need to sneak out in the dead of night, only to be carried back to the castle by Ranboo or Techno.
"Well, my lovely brother," you chuckle nervously, flashing Techno a sheepish smile. He scowls, jaw ticking. Irritability radiated off of him, nostrils flaring and brows furrowed. He was fucking scary when angry. "I just wanted to go out to the village by myself. I'm sick of having constant supervision, and Toms was in my bed last night."
His face softened, and he sighed, letting go of Tubbo's ear to pull you into a hug. "The same thing Tubs was doing," he huffed as you buried your face in his chest. "Fine, but I'm coming with both of you. Too many sick fucks out there that wouldn't hesitate to do something to you if you're unattended."
"Best brother of the year!" Tubbo cheered quietly, a dopey grin plastered on his lips, and you laughed softly, pulling out of the hug. "Let's go to Niki's!" He grabbed your hand, and you held Techno's, allowing Tubbo to lead the two of you through the castle.
When the three of you left the castle, the moon was still high in the sky, and the guards looked at you and Tubbo skeptically until they noticed Techno with you. There weren't many people roaming the village, seeing as it was so early in the morning, even for Techno, who would wake up at six a.m each day. Just a few people were out, Jack the blacksmith, Ponk the jeweler, Hannah the flower shopkeep.
Hannah looked incredible (as she always did). A pale pink, long sleeve dress that hugged her chest and hips had gold flower embroidery along the seams of the dress and the sleeves and roses climbing up the sleeves. A dress her wife, Tina, made.
"I should go speak to–" You begin to say, turning towards the flower shop to talk to Hannah, but Techno grabs your wrist and pulls you towards him while shooting you a glare.
