"And you came to show us your decision by blowing up the surrounding terrain and burning our trees? By attempting to murder our only woman?"
----
Darkness was all you saw before the world turned bright white.
You could feel grass tickling your skin, gentle petals of flowers brushing against your face, and a soft hum of bees flitting around nearby. It smelled like fresh, clean air; much cleaner than the air back home.
Opening your eyes, the first thing you noticed was the bright blue sky with soft, fluffy white clouds scattered around it. The sun, high in the sky. Crows flying around, sometimes in murders, other times not.
You sat up, looking around where you were. You had only ever seen this place before in your dreams. There was no snow, and there was no massive castle.
Was this your dreamland?
Your limbo?
Looking straight ahead, a cabin made of spruce and white concrete stood. You had seen that place before. You just never went inside.
Carefully, you stood up, legs wobbling a bit before you began to walk towards the cabin, but you abruptly stopped when a figure ran out of it and towards you.
Your eldest brother.
Wilbur.
Tears filled your eyes, and you ran to him. Wilbur engulfed you into a tight hug, picking you up as you cried into his shoulder. Your legs wrapped around his waist and your arms around his neck. You could only assume he had died too, and that's why he was here.
"Shh, shh. It's okay," Wilbur mutters, rubbing your back in a slow circular motion. "Wilby's got you." He carefully carried you towards the cabin, letting you cry it out. Once you had made it inside, Wilbur sat on the couch, holding you close to him.
You heard footsteps and then a soft gasp, followed by a familiar voice.
"Oh honey," it was your mother. You tilted your head to face your mother, tears rolling down your flushed cheeks. Your mother was standing there, dressed in an off-the-shoulder dark purple dress that faded to black towards the bottom. A black, sleeveless shirt underneath had a gold collar, a golden heart hanging from it, and long black gloves, her wedding ring on over them. Wrapped around her waist was a gold band, gold chains connected to it. And on her head was a big, black hat with a golden brim and a purple veil all around it.
Not once had you ever seen your mother dressed like this.
But it suited her more than the gowns with hoop skirts.
Your mother sat down beside the two, smiling sadly at you. Now you could see your mother was wearing black lipstick and dark purple eyeshadow. She looked gorgeous.
"I didn't think you'd come here so soon," she threaded her fingers through your hair and sighed. "Was it George?"
You nodded slowly, lifting a hand to wipe the tears from your eyes. You couldn't talk, no matter how badly you wished to. You had so many questions you wanted to ask, and so many things you needed to know.
Your mother understood you couldn't speak and grabbed a notepad and pen off the coffee table beside you and Wilbur. Readjusting in your brother's lap, you took the pad and pen from her and started writing down questions.
• Did you die too?
• How did Wilby die?
• Where are we?
And then how you died.
George slit my throat.
Your mother and Wilbur looked at the questions, and Wilbur spoke first. "Some boy from Manburg killed me. He was with Schlatt the night of the ball. He shot me with an arrow, straight through my heart."
You frowned but nodded and looked at your mother.
Your mother smiled. "I didn't die. I am who is considered Death. Goddess of Death, Mother of Crows, Lady Death, Death herself. Where we are, well, this is your home for when I reset the world—bringing everyone back with the help of two fellow Gods, Exdii and Foolish. You two will be twins in this next life, starting at age nine. Your father and Technoblade will still be fully aware of everything that happened. As will a time traveler who goes by the name Karl Jacobs. Tommy won't automatically be your brother; Phil will be adopting him. And Tubbo will be a part of the Schlatt family.
"There will be hybrids, much like Ranboo and Sam. You two will be avians like your father. Technoblade will be half piglin, Tommy half raccoon, and Tubbo half ram. You won't remember this life. I will not be there, my sweet ones. As much as I'd like to be, I cannot," Kristin smiles, resting her head on Wilbur's shoulder after taking her hat off. "But if you two die in this next life, that'll be okay. You'll come back here, and then we can wait together for the rest of our family. Your father and Technoblade will be the last to come."
"Who is considered 'our family'?" Wilbur asks, and you turn back around, resting your head on Wilbur's chest.
"Well, Ranboo, Tubbo, you two, Tommy, Dream, any children you all may have, Technoblade, his girlfriend, Phil, and of course, myself."
"The blade has a girlfriend?" Wilbur seemed shocked by this, not realizing his "tsundere" of a twin had a girlfriend.
"Of course he does, darling. I seemed to have forgotten to mention she's a minor Goddess, which will allow her to be with him in your next life, unlike myself."
• Who is she?
Kristin looked at the notepad and smiled, "Ah, just a woman I've known for many years. She'll be able to come here whenever she'd like. She plans to help me expand the house."
A knock.
"That must be ExDii and Foolish," Kristin says. "Come in!"
The door opens, and two men come in. One whose body was made of gold wore a white tunic with a hood resembling a shark head, his eyes a piercing emerald green.
The other man wore a green cloak with an eye of ender holding it together, a white tunic underneath. He had large white wings, and four arms and his mask was similar to Dream's. Except, instead of a smile, there was an "XD".
"Good morning, Lady Death," Foolish said with a toothy grin, showing his sharp teeth. Exdii nodded to her, giving a small wave.
"Good morning, you two," Kristin smiled. "These are two of my children. Darlings, these are Exdii and Foolish. Exdii is the God of Prime and Chaos. Foolish is a God of Death." You nodded, and Wilbur greeted them.
"Ready to get started then?" Foolish asked, cocking his head to the side.
"Yes, we're ready," she hugged you and Wilbur tight, kissing the top of your heads. "I love you both," she said before she left to go outside with Foolish and Exdii.
Wilbur sighed, closing his eyes and leaning his head against yours. "I'm sorry we didn't spend more time together when we were alive. I'm sorry I couldn't protect you as a big brother should..."
You frowned, picking your head up slightly to look at him. You grabbed his face and squished his cheeks. Silently telling him, it's okay. You went to reach for the notepad, but then everything stopped.
And the world around you went dark.
