5| beginning of the end

"shibuki, where are you!?" (name) shouted across the hallway. "saori!" they were currently at the second floor, and the still haven't seen the said woman. "oh god, this is terrible." she muttered. she sounded concerned for her friend, which she basically treated like a sister.

"maybe she's at the ground floor..." usagi said, pushing the elevator button and waiting for it to open. "it's under maintenance usagi." (name) said. "let's just take the stairs. (name) grabbed usagi and quickly dragged her downstairs." saori? saori!" she shouted as they reach the ground floor." what happened..." she saw eun-hyeok and yi-kyung on the ground.

"eun-hyeok! what happened here!?" she crouched down beside the man with glasses while usagi continued searching. she looked around but was stunned when she suddenly saw a dead body beside her. she put a hand on her mouth to prevent herself from screaming.

"what is this..." she had her eyes wide as she stared at the dead body. eun-hyeok grabbed her hand that was placed placed on his shoulder. "a monster tried to attack us..." he answered, making the shocked girl look at him.

"what? are you ok?" she said. "yeah i'm fine, don't worry." eun-hyeok helped yi-kyung stand up as (name) brushed off the dirt in her clothes. the other residents came out of their hiding spots and began crowding the place. some were shaking in fright while some of them were just simply staring outside.

"is it gone?"

"what was that?"

the old man approached yi-kyung and began to complain. "hey, i heard you're a firefighter." eun-hyeok, (name) and yi-kyung turned their heads to face him. "what's the government doing?" yi-kyung answered him while eun-hyeok looked back outside. "i'm sure they'll handle it."

"we're paying so much taxes and they can't even take care of one monster?" he spat making y/n snap at his horrible attitude. "look here old man, your life was literally in the line earlier and now you're going to complain like a brat?" she scoffed. the old man angrily turned his head to face her.

"you little- learn how to respect your elders, you freak-"

"no." that one word eun-hyeok said made all of them look at him. "it's not just one." yi-kyung and (name) looked at him before landing their gaze outside.

he's right, there were a lot of monsters roaming around, disgusting and ugly looking ones.

"just... what in the world is happening!?" yi-kyung muttered. "i don't know..." eun-hyeok continued, not taking his gaze off the creatures outside.

"maybe the world...
...is finally coming to an end."
